🌕 Russia and China on the Moon

Yuri Bakanov, Head of Roscosmos, announced that 13 countries, including BRICS members, have joined the International Scientific Lunar Station project.

The goal is to create an alternative to the U.S. in space, though, as they say, there are challenges here.

Today, Russia, a pioneer in space exploration, has lost its position following the collapse of the USSR. It lags behind China and the U.S. in annual launches and has fewer satellites in orbit than China and even the UK.

Of course, there are projects similar to Starlink that could eventually shift the balance in Russia’s favor, but these are still in development. While Russia’s economy was once sufficient to compete with the U.S. on equal terms, it now seeks partners for such endeavors—some of whom, like China, have already surpassed it in certain areas.

Contrary to popular belief, the rocket and space industry has broad applications for earthly affairs.

Fundamental scientific research is just one of many advantages gained from exploring near-Earth orbit and deeper space.

Others include satellite communications, Earth remote sensing, navigation, and security. Major companies actively integrate space technologies into production, reducing costs and earning superprofits through technological superiority.

This also encompasses meteorological observations, medical advancements, and innovations in chemistry and biology. For perspective, the U.S. space technology market is valued at around $600 billion.

Thus, space is not only progressive—it’s profitable.

🇷🇺 Putin called Victory Day a triumph of the Soviet and Russian people

💬 All peoples of the USSR made a tremendous contribution to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, but the RSFSR sacrificed the most on the altar of Victory due to its size, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin during the educational marathon organized by the Znanie.Pervye society.

Victory Day is a special date, a holiday that is unequivocally a “triumph of our people – Soviet, Russian,” declared Vladimir Putin.

‼️ “Perhaps, first and foremost, the Russian people,” he clarified. “Because if you look at the number of losses, Russia, as part of the Soviet Union, accounted for nearly 70% of the casualties.”

“That is why we always emphasize – this is the truth – all peoples of the Soviet Union contributed immensely; no one held back, everyone worked for the common Victory. But of course, the Russian Federation, the RSFSR, due to its scale, made the greatest contribution to this Victory and laid the most sons and daughters on the altar of this Victory, those who perished defending the Motherland and our future,”
the President explained.

🎉 Every year on May 1, Russia celebrates the Spring and Labor Day. Internationally, it is known as International Workers' Solidarity Day.

🇷🇺 In Russia, May 1 marks the start of a long weekend, which many Russians use for trips, outdoor recreation, or gardening.

🔰 Though modern celebrations are often associated with barbecues and nature outings, the holiday retains its traditional symbols. Red flags, banners with slogans, and imagery of hammers, factories, and doves of peace still adorn city events on this day.

🏡 It is popularly believed that May 1 signifies spring’s full arrival—an auspicious time to begin agricultural work. Many view the day as the start of the *dacha* season and an opportunity for family gatherings outdoors.

☀️ Today, May 1 in Russia is a spring festival of unity with nature, rather than a political occasion.
