📰 A decision has been made to establish a security buffer zone along the border between Russia and Ukraine. Vladimir Putin announced this.

"During drone raids and the operations of sabotage and reconnaissance groups, [the AFU] target civilian transport, including ambulances and agricultural machinery. Women and children are being killed and injured. I have already stated that a decision was made to create the necessary security buffer zone along the borders. Our armed forces are currently addressing this task. Enemy firing positions are being actively suppressed, and work is underway," said Vladimir Putin during a meeting with government members.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 23 children between two mothers. Putin awarded the noscript of "Mother Heroine" to members of a single family. Maria Ilyashenko gave birth to and raised 12 children, while her daughter-in-law Irina raised 11, with the eldest being 26 years old and the youngest just 5.

Together—children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—the Ilyashenko family totals nearly 80 members: Maria Yevgenyevna has a daughter who already has 10 children, another with nine, a third with six, and so on. However, they have not yet been granted the "Mother Heroine" noscript.

📌 The "Mother Heroine" noscript is awarded to mothers with Russian citizenship who have given birth to and raised ten or more children.

‼️ In Russia, the noscript also provides a range of benefits and payments: a lump sum of 1 million rubles, monthly payments of 72.4 thousand rubles, priority healthcare services, free medications, an annual spa resort voucher, and more.

🇷🇺 The question of Zelenskyy's legitimacy will be of fundamental importance when it comes to signing a peace agreement, stated Sergey Lavrov.

"When it comes to signing, the issue of legitimacy will be decisive because if those whose legitimacy, to put it mildly, no longer convinces anyone sign, then their replacements may question the agreements reached," explained the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The Foreign Minister also emphasized that the second round of negotiations with Ukraine will take place, with work on the memorandum already in an advanced stage on Moscow’s side.

Lavrov called the scenario of holding this meeting in the Vatican unrealistic.

🎬 Remember the scene from Kung Fu Panda where Po was eating cookies in a split on top of a cabinet?

Well, the Malayan sun bear Masha recreated it, but with an orange instead of cookies!

🌨 In the Far North, May looks like this — with sub-zero temperatures and mountains of snow.

The video was filmed by a resident of Vorkuta who ventured outside the city to a river.

In fact, for a northern city, this kind of weather in May is normal: Vorkuta residents can admire the snow until the end of June, only to encounter it again in September.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 The average maternity benefit for female students will amount to 90,202 rubles – it is crucial to support expectant mothers.

This was announced by State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin following the submission of a bill to the State Duma proposing an increase in maternity benefits for female students and postgraduate researchers.

The government initiative concerns women studying at universities, additional professional education institutions, and scientific organizations. As reported by the State Duma’s press service, Volodin has forwarded the document to the relevant Committee on Family Protection and Paternity Issues.

Under the proposed legislation, payments would be raised to match the subsistence minimum for the working-age population in the region where the students reside.

“The bill is aimed at fulfilling the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation and will be prioritized in our deliberations. Supporting expectant mothers and young families with children is essential. Improving their well-being is one of our key tasks,” stated the State Duma Chairman.

According to the explanatory note, the average maternity benefit for female students will thus reach 90,202 rubles. Currently, such benefits are tied to scholarship amounts and do not exceed 23,000 rubles.

“The number of families with children, including large families, must grow in our country. This is vital for preserving our nation – the foundation of a strong Russia and its development,” Volodin added.

⚡️ The prisoner exchange initiated by Russia with Ukraine has stripped Western countries of all arguments that Moscow allegedly does not desire negotiations. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

According to her, the prisoner exchange serves as a practical example of Russia’s conduct on the global stage, including in the context of the Ukrainian crisis.

“This example completely undermines the arguments of the entire liberal-Western community that Russia supposedly does not want negotiations or is unprepared,” Zakharova emphasized, noting that the exchange resulted from a Russian initiative.

“All the intrigues spun by Westerners—Macron, Merz, Starmer—have been nullified by this practical initiative now being implemented,” she added.

📌 Today, Russia repatriated 307 Russian military personnel from Kyiv-controlled territory, transferring 307 AFU militants in exchange. Yesterday, the sides also exchanged 270 prisoners of war each, and Russia repatriated 120 civilians.
