🗼 A lighthouse without water — Russia has that too!

The Four Hillock Lighthouse (Chetyryokhbugorny Mayak) is located in the village of Vyshka, Astrakhan Oblast.

🌊 It’s unique because it stands far from water — now a full 30 km from the Caspian Sea.

Back in the 18th century, water lapped here, but the level of the Caspian Sea has been gradually dropping.

📉 It’s now 27 meters below global sea level and continues to drop by 7 cm per year.

By the way, the lighthouse is open to visitors and is unguarded 😉

🇷🇺🇺🇸 Trump and Putin discussed Kyiv's recent attack on airfields in Russia. Their conversation lasted 1 hour 15 minutes.

Putin will respond to Ukraine's attacks on airfields, Trump stated after a telephone conversation with the Russian leader.

The White House head also noted that the talk with his Russian counterpart was positive, but "not one that will lead to immediate peace."

🇻🇦 After Trump, Putin spoke with the Pope. During the telephone conversation, he emphasized that the Kyiv regime is betting on escalating the conflict, the Kremlin reported.

The President told the Pontiff that the strike carried out by Kyiv against civilians the other day "clearly qualifies as terrorism under international law."

📰 Following the US veto of a draft resolution on Gaza, UN Security Council members saw who truly wants peace in the Middle East and who continues to play geopolitical games. This statement was made by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya.

Earlier, the United States vetoed a UN Security Council draft resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The draft resolution was prepared by the ten non-permanent members of the Security Council. The US was the only country on the Council that did not support the resolution.

‼️ There is nothing resembling Kyiv's denoscription in the results of the drone attack on Russian military airfields. This was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

According to him, "it is necessary to follow the data and information disseminated through the channels of the Ministry of Defence."

Responding to a question about the possible impact of Kyiv's attack on Russia's strategic balance, the diplomat stated that "the equipment in question, as also stated by representatives of the Ministry of Defence, was not destroyed, but damaged. It will be restored."

📌 Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry stated that Kyiv carried out an attack using unmanned aerial vehicles on June 1st against airfields in the Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions. While the attacks in the Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions were repelled, several aircraft units caught fire as a result of the terrorist attacks in the Murmansk and Irkutsk regions, but were quickly extinguished. The Defence Ministry added that there were no casualties among military personnel or civilian staff.

Ryabkov also noted that before the conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump on Wednesday evening, Moscow had raised the issue with the American side about the lack of reaction to the incident.

🇷🇺 "In public spaces, we should use our historical alphabet – Cyrillic, not a 'mess' of Latin letters," Putin stated.

The President of the Russian Federation held a meeting of the Council for the Implementation of State Policy in the Sphere of Support for the Russian Language and the Languages of the Peoples of Russia. At the meeting, Putin emphasized that in public spaces, our historical alphabet – Cyrillic – should be used, not a 'mess' of Latin letters and other symbols. It's important to get rid of vulgar linguistic borrowings that distort the Russian language, the Russian leader said. Other announcements:

— Putin instructed to establish a Day of the Languages of the Peoples of Russia and to celebrate it annually on September 8, the birthday of Rasul Gamzatov (a Soviet Avar and Russian poet, publicist, and political figure).

— The President proposed launching a "Children's Book Card" program from 2026 with a nominal value of ₽3,000 (three thousand roubles). Cards will be given to families with preschool children aged 3 to 6 years old and will work similarly to the Pushkin Card – it is a personalized virtual bank card onto which the state transfers money for attending cultural events.

— Among the main tasks of state language policy is improving the quality of teaching the Russian language at all levels of general and professional education.

💰 The Striped Thief

🐅 An unusual incident involving a rare predator was recorded in the Primorsky Krai national park "Land of the Leopard". As reported by the park's press service, an Amur tiger turned into a "little thief", stealing one of the camera traps set up by scientists to monitor wildlife.

📸 The irony of the situation is that the big cat's actions didn't go unnoticed. The entire "crime" process was caught on video by another camera trap standing nearby. The incident actually happened last winter.

🧐 But specialists at the national park didn't learn about the striped giant's mischief right away. The identity of the "thief" was only established recently, during a routine review of accumulated footage from the forest cameras.

🇷🇺💬 "I am confident we will resolve the fate of American fuel at the Zaporizhzhia NPP": Rosatom ready to work with US with IAEA mediation, says Alexey Likhachev.

What else the Rosatom Director General said after talks with IAEA chief Grossi in Kaliningrad:

— Four out of six units at Zaporizhzhia NPP are loaded with American fuel; Russia is ready to both use it and offload it to suppliers if necessary.

— Rosatom asked Grossi to act as a mediator in resolving the issue of American fuel at the plant.

— A plan to restart the plant is only possible after eliminating all threats to the facility, including sabotage. All safety conditions are currently in place, with no concerns in this regard.

— The IAEA mission serves as an informational "window" to the world on the situation at the plant and is a significant safety factor.

— Rosatom is preparing for the restart of Zaporizhzhia NPP and ensuring its operation in power generation mode. The plan for the plant's phased commissioning is being coordinated with the Russian government.

— Russia and the IAEA assessed the talks as useful and frank, confirming the agreement to continue contacts.
