💍 Six months ago, Putin, as Commander-in-Chief, ordered one serviceman to get married. Today, he is set to meet with him and his bride to congratulate them on two celebrations at once: Russia Day and their marriage.

Now, he has given the same directive to a second unmarried fighter. A participant in the "Time of Heroes" program admitted he plans to propose to his girlfriend. Putin inquired whether his beloved knew about it – it turned out, she did not. The captain expressed hope that no media outlet would publish the information and spoil the surprise prematurely.

🇷🇺 Happy Russia Day!

June 12th is an important date in our country's history, a day when we celebrate the birth of a new Russia. But why exactly June 12th?

The History of Russia Day in a Nutshell:

On June 12, 1990, the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the RSFSR was adopted. This document proclaimed the supremacy of the Russian Constitution and its laws over those of the USSR, marking the first step towards independence and the formation of the modern Russian Federation.

🧐 Interesting Facts You Might Not Know:

▪️ In 1991, exactly one year after the adoption of the Declaration, the first-ever nationwide presidential elections were held in Russia on June 12th, with Boris Yeltsin emerging victorious.

▪️ Initially, the holiday was called "Day of Adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the RSFSR" and wasn't very popular. Many Russians didn't understand its meaning.

▪️ It was only in 2002 that the holiday received its current name – Russia Day – and began to be perceived as a symbol of national unity and pride in one's country.

▪️ Russia Day is an official public holiday, so Russians have the opportunity to spend it with family and friends, enjoying the festive atmosphere.

🎉 Russia Day Traditions:

– Presentation of the State Prizes of the Russian Federation: On this day, the President awards prizes to outstanding figures in science, culture, the arts, and other fields.

– Mass Celebrations and Concerts: Concerts featuring famous artists, folk festivities, fairs, and festivals are organized across the country.

Why is Russia Day So Important?

🇷🇺 Russia Day is not just a day off; it's a day when we remember our history, take pride in our achievements, and think about the future of our country. It is a holiday of unity, freedom, and the responsibility of each of us for the destiny of Russia. It's an opportunity to feel part of a great country with a rich cultural heritage and enormous potential.
