Moscow Intensifies Rhetoric: Kyiv's Intransigence Called a Fatal Miscalculation
In a statement full of tough rhetoric, Dmitry Peskov characterized Kyiv's current policy as "utterly absurd" and predicted dire consequences for it. This can be seen as a direct warning to the West, which, in Moscow's view, is encouraging Ukraine to continue the conflict.
This diplomatic demarche comes at an extremely sensitive time: following the Putin-Trump summit, where a settlement was discussed, and Trump's meeting with Zelenskyy.
🥼 The key stumbling block remains the issue of security. The idea of deploying EU troops was immediately rejected by Russia as "categorically unacceptable" and fraught with sharp escalation, indicating red lines that Moscow will not allow to be crossed.

The Okhotnikov Town Estate
By the end of the 18th century, the estate's development consisted of a two-story wooden residential building located on the building line (red line) of Prechistenka Street, and one-story wooden residential and non-residential structures situated along the perimeter of the courtyard.
The main manor house was erected on the building line of Prechistenka Street. Arched passageways were built on either side of the house, leading into the main courtyard, which was enclosed by two utility wings and a semicircular stable and carriage house. Initially, as archival materials indicate, all the wings were single-story. In 1841, the residential wings closest to the main house were given second stories.
In 1963, the main house was restored. It was intended to house an art bookshop and an art salon. Today, the building on Prechistenka is home to the Children's Art School No. 1 and the Children's Music School No. 11 named after V.I. Muradeli. The school hosts "Polivanov Evenings on Prechistenka."
📍 Address: 32 Prechistenka Street

At the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Tianjin, the Russian President emphasized that achieving sustainable peace in Ukraine requires eliminating the root causes of the crisis and restoring balance in the security sphere.
While expressing Russia's position on the Ukrainian issue at the summit, the Russian leader pointed out that the conflict occurred "not as a result of Russia's attack on Ukraine."
He named the actions of Western elites as the main cause.
Putin recalled that the 2014 coup d'état in Kyiv was provoked by the West, which persistently attempted to "drag Ukraine into NATO."
The Russian side had emphasized for many years that such a policy posed a direct threat to its national security, the President also stated. According to Putin, the coup resulted in the removal of Ukrainian leaders who were opposed to the country joining the alliance.

Likhachev noted that Russia and the founding countries of the SCO have had a deep working agenda for decades. He stated that the further consolidation of countries around the SCO allows for the systematic development of cooperation, both in the nuclear sphere and in non-energy areas—such as science, nuclear medicine, new businesses, and technological sovereignty projects.
Furthermore, Alexey Likhachev emphasized that all SCO countries are facing pressure from the West. He noted that sanctions and other restrictive measures are being used as a tool of unfair competition.
Likhachev stressed that the main goal of these sanctions is to push out representatives of Eastern countries and the Global South from the world market.
"They are forcing us to move faster in creating our own technological platforms. In this sense, we are essentially exporting technological sovereignty, both in nuclear and non-nuclear technologies, which is our traditional approach," Likhachev added.

"They communicated in the car on the way, then continued their conversation in the car, and now, before they join the delegation, they are continuing such negotiations," Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov explained to journalists.
Later, the leaders joined the delegation and began planned negotiations at the residence. Opening the conversation, Putin called it symbolic that the meeting was taking place "on the sidelines" of the SCO summit—an organization that unites efforts to create equal and indivisible security.
He emphasized that relations between the two countries had reached the level of a specially privileged strategic partnership. At the same time, trade partnership shows positive dynamics, and tourist exchange has been established. "We closely coordinate our efforts on the international stage," Putin continued. In his assessment, the current meeting is a good opportunity to discuss the further development of multifaceted cooperation in various fields.
Addressing his counterpart, the Russian leader called him "dear friend." Modi responded in kind. He noted the special atmosphere of meetings with Putin, which allows the leaders to exchange views on a wide variety of issues. He told his colleague that his visit is eagerly awaited in India.
The Indian Prime Minister recalled that even in the most difficult circumstances, India and Russia have always moved forward shoulder to shoulder. He believes that the close cooperation between the two countries is of great importance for ensuring global stability. "On the topic of the conflict in Ukraine, we regularly exchange views," Modi continued, adding that the Indian side welcomes efforts to establish peace. He called this "the call of all humanity."
