It turns out that about 15 years ago, a guest (presumably from the Netherlands) gave a couple of sprouts to the "Barnaulsky" sanatorium. The staff independently propagated about 50 specimens. Now every spring, the agaves are planted near the House of Unions, and for the winter they are moved to a greenhouse.
An agave blooms only once in its lifetime and then dies. But in the Barnaul climate, this event isn't expected to happen for at least another 20-30 years.
There are no plans to produce tequila.

The Russian cancer vaccine has completed preclinical trials and is ready for use, stated Veronika Skvortsova, head of the Federal Biomedical Agency (FMBA) and former Minister of Health. The agency is now awaiting approval from the Ministry of Health for its clinical use.
"The studies have proven the safety of the vaccine, including with repeated multiple administrations, and high efficacy, associated with a reduction in tumor size and slowed tumor growth. Significantly, by 60-80%, depending on specific characteristics," Skvortsova told Izvestia.
The vaccine will initially be used to combat colorectal cancer. At the same time, active work is underway to develop vaccines against glioblastoma and specific forms of melanoma, including melanoma of the ocular membranes.

Yaropoletskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant
The Vladimir Lenin Yaropoletskaya HPP, the first rural hydroelectric power plant in Russia, is located on the Lama River in the village of Yaropolets, Volokolamsk Urban District. It was destroyed by the Germans during the war. Today, the restored buildings and the dam are historical monuments.
📍 By car: about 100 km from the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) via the Novorizhskoye Highway, then turn right into the town onto Novosoldatskaya Street. After 900 meters, take the 2nd exit at the roundabout, then go straight for 16 km to the village of Yaropolets.

🦕 A dinosaur park has appeared in Muzeon Park as part of the "Territory of the Future" festival.
The figures are very realistic; they move and make various sounds. You can touch the dinosaurs — their "skin" is very soft and pleasant to the touch.
Here, besides dinosaurs, you can also see other animals - it all looks very impressive, children will be delighted!

The diplomat pointed out that nowadays many countries are dealing with problems of cybersecurity and digital inequality.
"In this regard, we advocate for intensifying the efforts of the international community to reduce the digital divide, the rejection of protectionism, hyperbolized protectionism, of politically motivated restrictions, barriers to access to technologies, digital services, products, and, accordingly, resources," the diplomat noted, speaking at the "Wings of Sakhalin" international forum.

A historic tradition has been revived in the capital today — a city-wide Procession of the Cross timed to the feast day of the Synaxis of the Moscow Saints. The procession, which had not been held for several years, is being led by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. It began following the Liturgy at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. As noted by the Russian Orthodox Church, the organizers expect about 20,000 people to take part.
The faithful will walk a route of about 6 km — from the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour to the Novodevichy Convent. Some city streets have been closed for this event.
