The Russian Foreign Minister and the US Secretary of State held talks on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. The meeting lasted 50 minutes, according to media reports.
Photos of the delegations were published by Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova. Lavrov and Rubio previously met in July at ASEAN events in Malaysia.
This is the first meeting between representatives of the US and Russia since Trump's anti-Russian remarks yesterday.
