🇷🇺 Foreign Military Personnel in Russia Guaranteed Protection from Deportation

The Russian government has supported bills that will grant special rights to foreigners serving in the Russian Armed Forces. Once the amendments are adopted, they can no longer be deported, have their patents revoked, or be extradited to another country.

The initiatives, approved by the Commission on Legislative Activities, are aimed at creating a stable legal status for foreign military personnel.

Key changes include:

— A ban on deportation, readmission, and reduction of their stay permit.

—Inability to annul a patent, work permit, or residence permit.

—Russia will refuse extradition to other countries for criminal prosecution.

For violations of migration legislation, instead of deportation, such individuals will now face a fine (from 1,000 to 50,000 rubles) or community service (up to 200 hours).

🥼 As explained by Igor Cherepanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Russian Lawyers Association, the adoption of the amendments is driven by the need to "preserve military secrets" by keeping these foreigners within Russia's territory.

🏞 Turquoise Lake

Yubileiny Pond, also known as Milyan-Gol, which from Tatar translates as "Turquoise Lake," is a man-made reservoir created in Crimea in 1975, which was used as a water reservoir.

The lake is located at an altitude of ~600 meters above sea level. It is fed by the water from the Urkuti-Chokrak spring. The depth of the reservoir reaches 6–12 m, depending on the season.

Its mirror-like surface amazes with an unusually bright turquoise hue, reflecting the surrounding mountains and lush greenery. A dense forest shelters this fairy-tale corner from the winds, and it is always quiet here.

There are people who are sure that Turquoise Lake possesses special energy and can remove witchcraft.

LUKOIL Declares Force Majeure at One of the World's Largest Oil Fields

The cause was Western sanctions, which have completely paralyzed financial settlements with Baghdad: Iraq has stopped all payments to the company—both monetary and in oil.

👖 Key Circumstances:

— Last week, LUKOIL sent an official letter to the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, citing force majeure circumstances preventing its work.

—If the situation is not resolved within the next six months, the company will completely withdraw from the project.

—After the UK and US imposed blocking sanctions against LUKOIL and its subsidiary structures, Iraq found itself unable to make payments.

🥼 Parallel to its Iraqi problems, LUKOIL is attempting to sell its foreign assets. The trading company Gunvor emerged as a potential buyer, but the deal fell through.

On November 7, Gunvor withdrew its offer after a warning from the US Treasury Department about connections to Russia and a refusal of guarantees for conducting business.

🇷🇺 The press service of the President of Kazakhstan has published footage of an honor guard consisting of Russian Su-35 fighter jets, accompanying Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's aircraft from the moment it crossed the Russian state border.

The fighters greeted the presidential plane with wing waves and took up formation on both sides of it, maintaining the established distance.

The footage shot by Tokayev's press service shows a Russian pilot observing the airliner from his cockpit, as well as air-to-air missiles suspended under the wing of the Su-35. Despite being an honor guard, it is ready to protect the distinguished guest from any trouble.

🪨 Traces of an Ancient Civilization on the Sagan-Zaba Cliff

The name of the cliff, located on the western shore of Lake Baikal, translates from the Buryat language as "White Rock": Sagan-Zaba truly stands out in color from the other coastal cliffs. The Buryats considered this place the dwelling of powerful spirits.

According to legend, gold that the spirits decided to keep for themselves is hidden in one of the secret caves of the cliff. It was being transported by a Chinese caravan, but due to bad weather, the people couldn't cross Baikal by water and hid the gold in a secret place to retrieve it later. However, they never returned for it.

Denoscriptions of the mysterious cave have been preserved, but it has not been found to this day. Instead, in 1881, rock drawings of ancient people were discovered on the cliff. In terms of composition, style of execution, and diversity of subjects, they became the most complex of all known rock art sites in the territory from the Urals to the Pacific Ocean. The earliest of them date back to the end of the second millennium BC.

😍 On the evening of November 11th, the sky over Salekhard gave the city's residents an incredible spectacle! Instead of the usual stars, mysterious light pillars lit up in the darkness.

This is not the Northern Lights or a mirage. This phenomenon has a scientific name — "light (or ice) pillars," and it is sometimes poetically called "frostbeam."

It occurs when millions of tiny ice crystals float in the frosty air. They act like thousands of small mirrors, reflecting the light from street lamps, windows, and spotlights, creating this fantastic picture in the sky.

And according to folk signs, such a phenomenon is a harbinger of severe frosts.

🇷🇺🇰🇿 Vladimir Putin is holding a meeting with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The Russian leader noted the importance of such protocol meetings, even though they maintain constant contact. Tokayev, in turn, thanked Putin for the warm welcome in Moscow, calling it "sacred land" and referring to the Russian leader as a "senior comrade."

"I would like first of all to express my heartfelt gratitude for the exceptionally warm welcome literally from the first minutes in Moscow, on this sacred land. It was just mentioned about the protocol aspects — indeed, from this point of view, what I saw and felt literally strongly amazed me, made me happy, and I felt all the warmth of the reception here, in the Russian capital," said the President of Kazakhstan.

Tokayev also noted that there are no serious problems between the two countries, and if any issues do arise, all matters are resolved promptly.

"As for bilateral cooperation, it is of the nature of a strategic partnership and allied relations. There is not a single sphere where we do not interact or work together. There are no serious problems of any kind between our states," added the Kazakh leader.
