On November 15, 2025, the famous traveler set off for Antarctica to deploy the world's first solo research station on Smolensk Island (Livingston) in the South Shetland Islands archipelago.
"I will be conducting research on the microplastic content in the coastal waters of Antarctica. Four months of work, research, harsh climate, and a new chapter in the history of polar expeditions," Konyukhov posted on social media.
Yesterday, the traveler's team set sail for Antarctica on two yachts: "Amazon" and "Elsie". The yachts will deliver almost 500 kg of equipment to the island. They provide mobility and the ability to adapt to the Antarctic weather—this is a key factor, Konyukhov explained.
"After a year of complex administrative work, we received permission from Roshydromet (the Russian Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring) to establish my solo seasonal station on Smolensk Island—the first of its kind. For me, this mission is not only about research but also about preserving Russian history in Antarctica," he wrote.

This unusual 46-meter vertical cliff is located on the coast of the Black Sea, near Tuapse, in the Krasnodar Krai. It's almost like a 15-story building by the water!
It was named after the artist Alexander Kiselyov, who depicted this natural landmark in the 19th century.
The rock looks unusual—as if it's made of tree trunks growing out of the water. The best photos with it in the background can be taken from the beach, which is reached by trails through the "Kadosh" forest park.

According to him, the decisions made at the trials formed the basis of numerous international conventions and UN documents: the abolition of the "right of the strong," the affirmation of the unacceptability of forceful methods, and the violation of humanitarian principles in any conflicts.
"The most significant is this principle of the inevitability of particularly severe punishment for crimes of aggression, for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. All of this was formulated on an international and universal scale," Lavrov said.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry recalled that it was the Soviet Union that initiated the creation of the International Military Tribunal for Nazi criminals in 1941. By 1942, many countries supported the idea, but the official decision was made at the Yalta Conference, and the charter was signed in London in 1945.
"I would like to note that throughout all these efforts, the Soviet Union acted independently. It did not simply rely on the idea that we would someday create an international structure, and it would 'restore justice,'" emphasized the Russian Foreign Minister.
Lavrov noted that the Nuremberg Tribunal's introduction of the principle of no statute of limitations for such crimes is of particular importance. As a result, Nazi ideology, the party, and its structures are "banned forever."
"Unfortunately, these parts of the ruling are now being substantially tested and are very often simply violated," the Minister concluded.

On December 13, one of the most atmospheric winter holidays, the "Magic Leap into the New Year" festival, kicks off at the Izmailovo Kremlin. Here, adults can return to their childhood, and children will experience real New Year's magic.
The central square will host fun games and ring dances, thematic contests and raffles. Animators will put on an interactive show where the audience becomes part of a fairy tale.
The atmosphere is just like in the good old New Year's films – with the scent of tangerines, laughter, and the feeling that miracles really do happen!
