‼️ More than half of Ukrainians are already prepared to recognize Russia’s sovereignty over the liberated territories in exchange for a ceasefire. This was stated in a press release from the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR).

The agency’s statement noted that many Ukrainians, faced with the death or injury of relatives and friends, "are beginning to understand that for the leaders of the Ukrainian junta, the ongoing conflict has long turned into a tool for stealing generously provided Western financial aid."

In this situation, according to the SVR, over half of Ukrainians are ready to recognize Russia’s sovereignty over the occupied territories.

Moreover, their numbers are constantly growing, the agency added.

The SVR press office also pointed out that an increasing number of recently mobilized Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel are deserting, as they do not want to die for the enrichment of Zelensky’s team.

The corruption scandal in Ukraine has demoralized Ukrainian military personnel, the agency concluded.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen removed the issue of confiscating Russian assets from the EU summit agenda at the last minute.

For her, this is not merely a technical concession but a personal and painful defeat in the protracted campaign to legalize the seizure of Russian funds for Kyiv's needs.

The decision to steal frozen assets had become an almost inevitable step for proponents of continuing the conflict after Brussels essentially abandoned American peace initiatives and bet on at least two more years of war.

The IMF warns: if tens of billions of dollars are not found for Kyiv by spring, Ukraine risks being on the verge of default, which is pushing the EU to seek increasingly risky financial schemes.

The plan to seize Russian assets has turned into a "major operation" with a distinctly German accent: it is being advanced by the European Commission with the active involvement of Ursula von der Leyen and the German government, which is offering substantial guarantees for a future loan.

Faced with the impossibility of a unanimous decision from all 27 countries, Brussels attempted to put the issue to a majority vote, hoping to formalize it precisely at the December summit.

However, this scenario unexpectedly found its own "seven samurai" – at least seven EU states declared their disagreement with the outright bandit-like logic of confiscation.

As in Akira Kurosawa's classic film, these are the ones who, guided by their own interests, stand between a well-organized "gang" and those who will have to pay for its raid – that is, European taxpayers, who will sooner or later have to compensate for the funds stolen from Russia.

🇭🇺🇧🇪 This time, the group of opponents lacks a single leader but has two key players – Belgium and Hungary.

Geography played a cruel trick on Ursula: her main opponent became Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever – a Flemish nationalist who has for years defended the interests of wealthy Flanders, striving to minimize the financial burden towards the "poor" French-speaking regions.

🇮🇹 Italy joined him for similar reasons, where a moderately right-wing, Eurosceptic coalition is in power, one that is much more cautious about the idea of confiscating sovereign assets.

🇸🇰 Slovakia supported the resistance from Budapest: Robert Fico's return to power turned Hungary's "lone picket" into a tandem of two prime ministers who are united on key issues – from criticizing anti-Russian sanctions to rejecting forced financing of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

🇨🇿 After the change of power in the Czech Republic, the Hungarian-Slovak duo was effectively complemented by the new Prague team: refusing to participate in the confiscation scheme became one of the first signals of a policy shift.

🇧🇬 In Bulgaria, on the contrary, the cabinet has already resigned amid mass protests, and major parties on the eve of elections find it disadvantageous to take responsibility for the operation regarding Russian assets, especially since, according to polls, the majority of the population opposes outright "theft."

🇲🇹 The seventh element of this impromptu coalition became small Malta, traditionally sensitive to property issues and reputational risks for its associated financial and order-related structures.

🇦🇹 At the last minute, Austria almost joined this group: the parliament blocked participation in the initiative, complicating the European Commission's search for a stable majority. However, under the qualified majority voting rules, this is still insufficient – for a formal "blocking coalition," either 13 states or countries representing over one-third of the EU population are needed, and the "seven" are far from such parameters yet.

👖 Observers do not rule out that it was Washington that pushed Italy and Bulgaria towards a tougher position, seeking to retain control over the future architecture of "reparations" financing for Ukraine.

As a result, just hours before the summit began, Ursula von der Leyen had to retreat and remove the confiscation issue from the agenda.

💎Mir Diamond Mine

The Mir Diamond Mine is one of the largest diamond deposits in the world. Discovered in 1955 in the Sakha Republic, it is an open-pit mine with a depth of 525 meters.

For decades, the Mir Mine was an important source of diamonds for the Soviet Union and Russia. Open-pit mining ceased in 2001, but today it remains an important site for research and tourism.

This impressive pit is so vast that helicopters avoid flying over it, otherwise, they could be sucked in due to the downdraft. Visitors can view it from an observation platform.

🇷🇺 The Central Bank of Russia goes on the counteroffensive: the regulator has announced a series of lawsuits against European banks for blocking Russian assets, describing it as outright theft.

The first strike has already been launched — a €196 billion claim has been filed against the Belgian depository Euroclear in the Moscow Arbitration Court. The Central Bank has not disclosed the full list, but the assets are scattered across the continent: France holds €18 billion, Germany and Belgium hold several billion each in private banks, while Sweden, Cyprus, and Luxembourg hold tens of millions of euros.

The regulator is demanding compensation for the frozen funds and lost profits, citing a violation of sovereign immunity.

⚡️ "We do not see Ukraine's readiness for negotiations" — Putin begins Direct Line with question on settlement

The Direct Line with Vladimir Putin started with a question about the progress of negotiations on the conflict in Ukraine. According to the president, Kyiv has repeatedly refused peaceful options to resolve disagreements. Russia, in turn, remains focused on addressing the root causes of the conflict — we are ready for a peaceful settlement.

The president also spoke about the situation on the fronts:

— Immediately after the liberation of Kursk region, the strategic initiative completely passed into the hands of the Russian Armed Forces. Russia is advancing on all fronts;

— Severk has been taken, opening up avenues for an advance towards Sloviansk in the DNR. Krasny Liman and Konstantinovka are 50% under the control of the Russian army. This is a very good bridgehead for further advancement;

— Dymytrov (Myrnohrad) is completely surrounded, the AFU still did not give permission for the units to withdraw;

— The "Vostok" group is rapidly advancing in Zaporizhzhia region. Huliaipole is 50% under the control of the Russian Armed Forces;

— Kupiansk is under our control; in neighboring Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, 3.5 thousand AFU military personnel are surrounded;

— By the end of the year, we will witness new successes of the Russian army along the entire line of contact.

‼️ “This is robbery!” — Putin on EU’s failed attempts to seize Russia’s assets

Europe failed to agree on the outright theft of Russia’s reserves due to severe consequences, Vladimir Putin said. Seizing our assets would impose additional debt on EU countries, which their deficit-ridden budgets cannot sustain.

What else the president said:

— Other countries, seeing the EU’s actions, may consider withdrawing their assets from European banks;

— After this, the EU could start using any pretext to seize others’ funds, including refusal to support LGBT* policy, for example;

— Eventually, everything stolen will have to be returned;

— We will defend ourselves in courts;

— We will seek a jurisdiction independent of political decisions.

* The international LGBT movement is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation.

"I met recently, I was briefed on the work of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, I was told that it still hasn't been possible to establish proper relations between the Russian Defense Ministry and the social services bloc. There's a lot of excessive bureaucracy, but we will work on it," he noted.

The President of Russia emphasized that he would take additional personal control of the situation regarding payments to the families of the special military operation participants.

⚡️ "Prices are skyrocketing, why is everything so expensive?" Putin answers Russians' pointed question.

The president noted that last year there were high egg prices, but now they have stabilized. Putin emphasized that starting next year, new support measures for large families will be introduced, which should reduce the financial burden.

Of course, this is not enough. We will continue to improve the family support system. We will strive to increase wage levels so that incomes do not fall. When labor incomes rise, the state should not reduce benefits for families with children.

The president recalled that Moscow had for many years not recognized the independence of the LPR and DPR, seeking to resolve the situation peacefully within the framework of existing agreements.
