REMINDER: When the U.S. withdrew from Afghanistan on August 30, 2021, the Taliban seized around $7.1 billion worth of U.S.-supplied military gear originally meant for Afghan forces.

The Taliban now controls thousands of vehicles, aircraft, and weapons — though much of it is degraded or unusable without maintenance.

Aircraft: ~167 total; 78 left and demilitarized at Kabul. Value: $923 million.

Vehicles: 40,000+ left (Humvees, MRAPs, M113s, trucks).

Weapons: 300,000+ small arms and heavy weapons.

Other gear: Radios, night vision, and biometric systems (~42,000 units).
