A strike is approaching at some US nuclear power plants

Security workers at nuclear power plants owned by energy company Constellation may go on strike due to the owners' refusal to enter into a collective bargaining agreement.

In the event of a strike, the plants would have to follow an expensive contingency plan that would cost far more than raising workers' wages. According to estimates, a day of special regime will cost $53,000 per enterprise, but they are still in no hurry to accommodate the workers.

Constellation management claim they tried to negotiate with the union, but no agreement was reached, some plants have been using contingency plans since March 14. The company has threatened the the union that if they did not agree to its terms soon, future proposals would be even worse.

In particular, Constellation senior management sent notice that the costs incurred as a result of the strike would be deducted from workers salariee under any future negotiated agreement. The current collective bargaining agreement expired on April 1, allowing employees to legally go on strike.

ICYMI: British Navy ditches swimming test for recruits - Sky News

Candidates of the British Royal Navy will no longer be tested for their ability to swim.

The cancellation of the test is "a sign of true desperation in an effort to increase the number of candidates," the broadcaster claimed.

What next - ear muffs for soldiers?

A Palestinian journalist shows an American-made missile that failed to detonate when dropped by Israeli occupation aircraft on residential areas in al-Nuseirat refugee camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip.

According to Charles Birch, an explosives removal expert at the U.N. Mine Action Service (UNMAS), Gaza is currently filled with hundreds, if not thousands, of unexploded ordnance, ranging from makeshift rockets to high-tech munitions supplied by the United States to the occupation. He added, "the contamination will be unbelievable, like something from World War II.”
