The Irish Citizen Army (ICA), a paramilitary group founded on November 23, 1913, by James Larkin, James Connolly, and Jack White, emerged from the Lockout of 1913 in Dublin to protect workers' demonstrations against police violence.

Initially armed with hurleys and bats, the ICA was established as a workers' militia by the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union.

In 1916, it played a key role in the Easter Rising, standing out for its superior training and cohesion compared to the larger Irish Volunteers.

The ICA later participated in the War of Independence, managing parts of Dublin and assisting the Irish Republican Army in operations against British rule.

British police are raiding the homes of Palestine Action activists

Over 10 homes have been raided, where property has been destroyed and windows smashed. The police targeted houses of those who they allege were involved in shutting down the Elbit Systems hub in Bristol.

Renters organized a mass march against “parasitic” landlords in Barcelona this weekend. Property developers, speculators, and Airbnb owners have all made life impossible for local residents. Young workers in particular pay around 50% of their salaries in rent.

At least 22 migrants drown as boat capsized on way to France

At least 22 Somali citizens died after two migrant boats capsized near Madagascar while en route to the French overseas region of Mayotte.

Local fishermen rescued 25 from the first boat, including 10 men and 15 women. A second boat carried 38 people; 23 survived. Somalia's minister confirmed the toll.

Zoe Rogers has been jailed for nearly 100 days, facing charges related to her involvement with Palestine Action in a campaign that targeted Elbit Systems, Israel's largest arms manufacturer.

During her appearance on The Watchdog, Zoe's mother shared the heartfelt poem that Zoe wrote for Palestine while in jail, with the show's host, Lowkey.

It seems the Labour government of Keir Starmer would rather cut pensioners’s winter fuel allowance and child benefit for the poorest families than consider asking the billionaires to cough up even a little of their ill-gotten gains in the ‘national interest’.

Over half of Americans oppose military aid to Ukraine — Poll

Americans are divided on whether to continue military support for Ukraine, with 51% of respondents opposing it, according to the latest CBS/YouGov poll.

33% percent of respondents believe Trump should prioritize limiting aid to Ukraine, 36% said it should be a medium priority, and 31% did not consider it a priority at all.

"No Expansion": Ukraine is not welcome in the European Union

Ukraine's European integration is linked to irresolvable contradictions , writes the FT.

Russia, which is successful in the conflict, will not agree to Kiev joining Western structures.

Moreover, EU expansion is only possible with the approval of current members, and Ukraine has already made many enemies in Europe.

There is Hungary, with its accusations that Kiev oppresses its ethnic Hungarian minority.

There is Poland, with its dispute over Ukrainian nationalist atrocities against Poles during World War II. And there are a number of countries complaining about cheap agricultural exports to the EU from Ukrainе.

Letter from a disgruntled CPB member to head office:

I received today your email regarding the Winter Campaign. The following paragraph caught my eye:

'This new Labour government has brought a new dynamic to the class struggle, by failing to provide any respite to the ruling class attack on workers’ living standards and rights, facilitating the rise of the far right.'

I repeatedly expressed these sentiments to comrades in Cambridge well before the general election. In return, I was told the party line was to urge a vote for Labour. 

Consequently, please explain how your party can have any credibility in working-class communities when you encouraged them to vote for a Labour party that was going to screw them over and that this was self evident before the election?

Therefore, I look forward to the resignations of party leaders along with being able to deliver a party leaflet that includes a headline and byeline: 

We Apologise, We Got it Wrong,

A Vote for Labour was a Dumb Idea.
