Volkswagen to cut 35,000 jobs.

The German concern is suffering losses and is forced to reduce production capacity, suspend the recruitment of new employees, and reduce the number of trainees.

Volkswagen has reached an agreement with the IG Metall union after mass strikes. Not a single plant in Germany will be closed.

Earlier, the company announced that the concern was planning to close three plants in Germany, where its headquarters are located, cut salaries at the remaining plants in the country by 10% and freeze additional payments. Against this backdrop, mass protests began in the country.

Mining giant Rio Tinto’s holiday party was crashed by protesters in Serbia. For years, the government has been trying to push through its unpopular lithium mine. German and EU capital interests want Serbia’s lithium in order to overtake China’s dominance in the market.

Viktor Orban reveals ‘nightmarish’ amount of money West gave to Ukraine so far

Europe and the US spent €310 billion ($322) on Ukraine, Hungarian PM Viktor Orban said, adding he learned this number after conversations with US officials.

Speaking to the Kossuth Radio, Orban called the sum "nightmarish," adding that it could have boosted Europe's economy, improving lives and “making miracles”.

📱 Elon Musk's X (Twitter) deleted the X account of the Magdeburg terrorist, then reinstated it but it came with a catch:

All of the posts made by the Magdeburg terrorist in which he expressed support for Israel bombing Gaza, Lebanon and Syria, all of the posts expressing support for the Israeli premier, Benjamin Netanyahu and the terrorist's praise for Elon Musk and the AfD, were wiped out from the site.

Elon Musk also erroneously continues to claim that the Magdeburg terrorist was motivated by "adherence to islam" when in his own words, he said he is atheist and hates islamic countries and attacked a Christmas market because he thought Germany was too lenient and friendly with islamic countries.

Now, Elon Musk and various orbiter accounts on X are trying to paint the Magdeburg terrorist as "motivated by Islam" and accuse legacy media of "lying" when correctly assessing that he was not an adherent of islam.

On the point about some very foolish people screaming that Trump is "post duopoly" you don't even need to be a Marxist to work out this is nothing but branding. The likes of Michael Tracy can work out that Trump is completely aligned with the pre-existing factions within the Republican Party just by doing the rather simple thing of actually examining what Trump did in office and what his key personnel are on record as being committed to. Trump has Lindsay Graham as one of his biggest backers for fucks sake, that man personifies the duopoly.

The article highlights the work of a well-established homelessness charity in Liverpool that genuinely cares about supporting vulnerable people. While the charity does its best under difficult circumstances, the piece reveals a lack of understanding about the root causes of homelessness.

The so-called housing crisis is not a natural phenomenon but a manufactured one. The government actively inflates the housing bubble to sustain a highly profitable industry. A quick search reveals that, as of November 2024, 230,006 homes in the UK have been vacant for six months or more. In addition, as of 2021, there are 809,000 second homes. These numbers make it clear: there is no actual housing shortage.

The article also notes that many homeless people suffer from mental health issues or drug addiction. Within a capitalist system, these individuals are deemed unprofitable. Their labour holds little economic value, and their consumer potential is minimal. As such, they are cast aside. Moreover, their existence serves as a cautionary tale to the working class, a grim reminder of the consequences of falling out of the system.

Under capitalism, homelessness persists because there is no incentive to eradicate it. The only genuine solution lies in a planned economy where housing is treated as a fundamental right rather than a commodity for profit.
