This disgusting bit of anti-Irish colonial propaganda is presumably part of Suella Braverman’s future bid for Tory party leadership.

Braverman is again justifying the slaughter of civilian republican civil rights demonstrators by the “2 Para” (2nd parachute) regiment in 1972. She stops just short of mentioning the Bloody Sunday massacre, but the pictures of that bloody rampage are unmistakable. She is speaking against the Bloody Sunday Inquiry tribunal outcome – and prime minister David Cameron’s mealy-mouthed ‘apology’, which was the British government’s admission of Guilt.

Essentially, she’s saying every republican Irishman is a terrorist and that murdering protestors in cold blood is lawful action when taken by the British state. Since those murdered were British (albeit colonised) citizens, she’s defending the right of British imperialist state forces – the police and army — to murder British citizens with absolute impunity.

European court of human rights or no, these actions will always be illegal and immoral, and the perpetrators of these cold-blooded murders will always be butchers, not “heroes”.

Braverman’s deliberate posing alongside a mural that shows solidarity between the Irish republican movement and the people of Palestine is no accident.

It was Braverman, after all, who instructed police to clamp down on anti-genocide pro-Palestine protestors in Britain, even as prime minister Rishi Sunak was embracing Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu and endorsing the zionists’ Jdam bomb attack on al-Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza City in October 2023.

Braverman speaks to and for the brutal and bloodthirsty British imperialists. She is auditioning for her next role; to be allowed to continue facilitating the ruling class’s attacks on the workers of Britain and the world.

The message to British workers could not be clearer: this entire rotten system is ripe for overthrow.

The aim of the ruling class over the last fifty years has been to make the working class lose all awareness of itself as a class. This is behind the relentless propaganda to declare that everyone was "middle class" in the 1990s and 2000s. The ruling class will promote all manner of distractions and divisions in order to prevent the working class becoming conscious of itself and its historic role. The capitalists need to do this because they are faced with an ever growing proletarianisation of the population and thus need to make sure that these workers remain mired in ideological backwardness as much as possible. It is the historic duty of communists to help the working class understand the war that is being waged upon our class every day by the ruling class and that we have no choice but to fight them.

The capitalist class are now starting to realise that the outsourcing of the great bulk of production might have left them in a vulnerable situation. It has taken their impending defeat in the war o Russia to make them realise that the new workshops of the world (especially China) now have power over them. Any worker in the western world would have told you how bad deindustrialisation is of course because our class has experienced the horrors of it up close and personal. The ruling class are only regretting this now because they are faced with the fact that the Chinese and Russians can easily outproduce them in terms of energy, weapons and (in the case of China) every other commodity as well. Even if the ruling classes of the west want reindustrialise though they will be unable to do it without drastically reducing the wages of workers in the western nations. Either way, we lose if we do not fight back. We must boldly make the case that only the socialist system can revitalise our nations via a new wave of industrialisation. Only the power of the working class can save our nations now. If the ruling class are left in charge they will drag us all down to the bottom of the swamp with them.

Paul Doyle is obviously guilty — nobody’s arguing that. But if we stop the story there, we’re letting the real culprits walk away untouched. How was a bankrupt security firm, running on a shoestring, ever allowed to oversee a two-million-strong parade? How did a council so obsessed with squeezing profit from every event sign this off as “good enough”?

This isn’t justice. It’s scapegoating.

Paul Doyle wasn’t alone in the blame for what happened that day — he was just the easiest one to punish. The systemic failures above him are still exactly where they were.

French President Emmanuel Macaron says that after the signing of a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, "Assurance Forces" will be deployed throughout Ukraine outside the front lines.

The AF will include troops from the United Kingdom, France, and Turkey, tasked with training the Ukrainian army and ensuring security in the country.

The plan will be implemented through the Coalition of the Willing, not NATO.

20 countries have expressed their willingness to contribute.

The corrupt government surrounding the expired Kiev clown has crumbled. He may still be sitting in his office, spewing cocaine from his nose, but he won’t be the one who signs the peace treaty. The buffoon is illegitimate. The collapse of his system is inevitable.

The minimal concessions promised by the Labour Party leaders to the TUC leaders have been dropped following pressure from the ruling class. It is worth noting that the trade union movement paid £2.4 million to the labour party election campaign fund in 2024 and Unison, Unite, GMB continue to fund this wretched party. If it is not entirely obvious now that the labour party is not only a dead end for working class politics but is actually an enemy of the working class then this should make it obvious. The bosses demanded the plan to provide rights from day one in employment and offer protection against 'fire and rehire' because they want a "flexible" workforce that can be easily sacked and easily intimidate by the threat of getting sacked. Faced with these demands from the employers labour did what it always does, give in to them. After this debacle we must all raise the demand clearly in Unison, Unite and GMB that not one penny should go to this wretched party, this enemy of the working class. Disaffiliate now.

Everything about "Your Party" stinks of the same Labour-esque rot that has dominated the unions and the soft-left in Britain for bloody decades. It’s the exact same model: petit bourgeois managers playing at radicalism while fighting each other for control of mailing lists, donation pots, and committee noscripts.

Strip away the branding and you’re left with another Momentum, all hype, no class base, no discipline, and no much needed break from parliamentarism. A personality project built by ex-Labour MPs, not a party built by workers. The moment the money and the mailing lists became an issue, it collapsed into the same old factionalism, petty prejudice, and bureaucratic turf-wars.

If this is the “new left alternative,” then we’ve learned nothing. Reformism repackaged is still reformism. And a party built from the top down, without working-class organisation at its core, will always rot the same way: from the inside, at the hands of its own “progressive” gatekeepers.

Whilst the deeply flawed and fractious launch of Your Party at their inaugural conference would have raised a laugh or two (and I’ll be honest, I did have a chuckle myself), the fact is that Your Party will do great damage to the cause of building genuine working class power.

These people in Your Party are not socialists, no matter how vociferously they claim to be. These reformists believe that socialism is what happens when the state intervenes to try to curtail the worst excesses of capitalism.

They don’t believe in the working class owning and controlling the means of production, because that would require a revolution to achieve and they certainly don’t want to involve themselves in something like that.

Your Party is not anti-imperialist, either. It would quite happily allow the continued creation of monopolies, the proliferation of finance capital, the export of capital and the division of the world as long as the working class here are bestowed with some of the spoils won by our exploitations abroad.

The ruling class will frame these buffoons as ‘socialists’. They’ll tell the working class that their squabbling, student union-brand of politics, with its obsession with identity over class, is what socialism really is. And, in doing this, the working class will be inclined to believe them in the absence of evidence to the contrary. The right wing media (which is almost all of it) have delighted at the utter lunacy on display over the weekend.

The fight to deliver actual socialism to Britain has already been set back years by Corbyn’s utterly failed leadership of the Labour Party. Tragically, it will be set back again and even further by Your Party.

In recent days it has been revealed by Leinster House that Irish citizens are footing the bill for the US military presence at Shannon. This comes at a time when the ruling gombeen class are in overdrive to push militarisation on the Irish people and as the corporate media makes all the clearer the Free State's true intention of joining with the NATO bloc.

Not only has the Free State exempted the NATO power and its warplanes from standard air navigation charges (amounting to over €10m since 2018) but the free state military too is enlisted to defend them - with Simon Harris stating that this "security" for the imperialist terrorists costs the taxpayer €241,368 a year. While the Irish working class faces increasing strain from a cost of living crisis and artificial housing emergency, the state is putting its money to foreign troops occupying our land. This policy flies in the face of its professed "neutrality" and demonstrates its intentions to scrap it altogether.

Only weeks ago the state admitted for the first time in almost twenty years to authorising the warplanes through Shannon. For the Free-Staters to further publicise their facilitation of and collaboration with these imperialist forces now is no accident - they are testing the waters for what more is to come. In the coming months the ruling gombeen class will step up its campaign to drag the 26 counties into NATO and an EU military alliance; revolutionary Socialist Republicans must be committed to resist this alongside all genuine anti-imperialists. The presence of foreign troops can never be accepted or normalised, no matter what flag they fly. From Shannon to Aldergrove and from Dublin Port to Cork Harbour the cry must go out to resist NATO.
