The Polish Embassy in Minsk is calling for Poles to immediately depart Belarus and return to Poland, stating, “In the event of a drastic deterioration in the security situation, border closures, or other unforeseen circumstances, evacuation may prove significantly more difficult or even impossible,” with this direction coming less than a day after Poland announced it would be reopening its border with Belarus following the end of joint military exercises between Belarus and Russia.

South Korea fired warning shots Friday morning at a North Korean-operated commercial vessel that had crossed the Northern Limit Line (NLL) near the Island of Baengnyeong. The South Korean Navy, which had been monitoring the ship's advance toward the NLL, issued warning broadcasts, but the vessel continued its course until it crossed the line, triggering the navy vessel to fire dozens of warning shots and shells, causing the ship to quickly turn back towards North Korea.

U.S. Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll says he is locked in a “holy war” on Capitol Hill as he works to convince lawmakers to grant the service more flexible funding authority for electronic warfare, unmanned aerial systems and counter-drone efforts, according to the Military Times.

“We have 1,400 [to] 1,500 line items of make and model of things we need to buy,” he told a group of reporters last week. “Specifically we have asked to consolidate down in electronic warfare, drone and counter-drone. … This is 1% of our budget and we are in like a holy war over whether we’re going to have the authority for 1% of our budget to have the flexibility to buy different makes and models.”

During a recent behind-closed-door meeting with President Donald J. Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky requested BGM-109 “Tomahawk” Land Attack Cruise Missiles (TLAM) from the United States, which have a range of up to 1,500 miles, able to easily strike Moscow, according to The Telegraph.

Multiple sources told The Telegraph that the request was made in what has been hailed as a massively positive meeting between the two leaders held on the sidelines of the United Nations, with Zelensky telling Trump that the high-tech weapons system would help bring Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table to discuss a peace agreement with the U.S. and Ukraine. Trump is said to be “open” to the request of long-range cruise missiles and other advanced systems from Ukraine.

Two 17-year-olds have been arrested in the Netherlands on suspicion of “state interference” in relation to espionage activities for Russia. The boys were allegedly contacted by Russian-state hackers on the messaging app Telegram, instructing them to walked past offices belonging to Europol, Eurojust and the Canadian Embassy in The Hague carrying a “wi-fi sniffer” a device designed to identify and intercept wi-fi networks, before transmitting the data to the hackers over Telegram.

Following a meeting today between the Baltic States, Poland, and several other countries in Eastern Europe alongside the European Commissioner for Defence and Space, Andrius Kubilius, and Ukrainian advisors, it was decided that a project would be developed for the aerial defense of NATO’s Eastern Front. The concept, dubbed the “Eastern Flank Watch” would be based around a Drone Wall, for the detection, tracking, and interception of drones, with others aspects including ground defenses, maritime security for the Baltic and Black Seas, and space-based surveillance systems, located throughout Eastern Europe along the border with Russia.

Efforts to finalize a security and peace agreement between Syria and Israel have reportedly hit a last-minute snag, according to sources who spoke with Reuters. The snag involves disputes regarding Israel’s demand to maintain a “humanitarian corridor” to the Suwayda Governorate of Southern Syria, which would allow Israel to continue economically and militarily supporting Druze-majority militias hostile to Damascus.
