Next week’s short-notice unprecedented meeting of nearly all Flag Officers in the U.S. Armed Forces at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia, ordered by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, with Generals and Admirals coming from commands and duty stations across the world, will be for senior military leaders to attend a short speech by Secretary Hegseth on military standards and the “warrior ethos,” multiple people familiar with the event told The Washington Post.

According to additional details about the meeting provided by CNN, the surprise gathering will allow Secretary Hegseth to describe the administration’s reinvention of the Department of Defense as the “Department of War” and outline new standards for military personnel, with a White House official telling CNN, “It’s meant to be a show of force of what the new military now looks like under the president.”

Sources state that the meeting is expected to resemble a “pep rally” where Hegseth will underscore the importance of the “warrior ethos” and outline a new vision for the U.S. military, with him expected to discuss new readiness, fitness and grooming standards the officers are expected to adhere to and enforce. Hegseth’s team is planning on recording his speech and releasing it publicly later, being amplified by the White House.

U.S. President Donald J. In a 4–9 vote, the U.N. Security Council has failed to adopt a draft resolution by China and Russia to delay “Snapback Sanctions” against Iran by at least six months, with the full-force of sanctions approved previously by the United Nations expected to go into effect tonight at 12:00am.

At 12:00am tonight, the Iranian Central Bank will be once again disconnected from the SWIFT Payment System, as Snapback Sanctions under the following United Nations Security Council Resolutions immediately re-enter effect against Iran:
