President Donald J. Trump announces that Canada and Prime Minister Mark Carney are no longer invited to his “Board of Peace” following Carney’s dominating speech this week at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Speaking to reporters earlier today onboard Air Force One while on the way back from the 56th Annual Summit of the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, President Donald J. Trump spoke about Iran and the ongoing buildup of military assets in the Middle East:

“We’re watching Iran. We’re watching Iran. We have a lot of ships going that direction just in case. We have a big flotilla going in that direction. And we'll see what happens. We have a big force going towards Iran. I'd rather not see anything happen, but we're watching them very closely. I stopped 837 hangings on Thursday. They didn't postpone it. They canceled it. So that was a good sign. But we have an armada - we have a massive - we have a massive fleet heading in that direction. Maybe we won't have to use it. We'll see.”

The Dutch flagship airline KLM has announced that it will be suspending all flights to and from the Middle East until further notice, citing the “geopolitical situation” in the region and following discussions with officials in The Hague. KLM has directed international flights to avoid the airspace over Iraq, Iran, Israel, and several Gulf Nations, while all flights have been canceled to Tel Aviv, Dubai, Dammam, and Riyadh.

U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) has announced that, at the direction of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, military forces under Joint Task Force-Southern Spear (JTF-SS) carried out a strike earlier today, January 23, against an apparent narco-trafficking vessel in the Eastern Pacific operated by a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO). According to SOUTHCOM, intelligence indicated that the vessel was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route and participating in cartel operations, with two male narco-terrorists killed in the strike, while a third survived and is currently being searched for by the U.S. Coast Guard.

U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has responded to this week’s “appalling” statement by President Donald J. Trump during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, in which he stated that NATO Forces had stayed “a little off the front lines” in Afghanistan. “We’ve never needed them. We have never really asked anything of them,” Trump said regarding NATO, despite the United States being the only member of the alliance to ever invoke Article 5 after the attacks on 9/11.

In his response to the statement by President Trump, Starmer stated today during an interview: “Let me start by paying tribute to the 457 of our armed services who lost their lives in Afghanistan. I will never forget their courage, their bravery and the sacrifice that they made for their country. There are many also who were injured, some with life-changing injuries. And so I consider President Trump's remarks to be insulting and frankly appalling. And I'm not surprised they've caused such hurt to the loved ones of those who were killed or injured and in fact across the country… If I had misspoken in that way or said those words, I would certainly apologize.”
