Because had that first officer in the right sided seat been a usual lesser experienced pilot instead of a line check Captain, when the the left seat pilot became incapacitated… we might have had a very different result… You had the most experienced of pilots AT 2000 FEET when the other pilot dropped dead

As a former Air Force aviator (fighter aircraft) I can unequivocally say the takeoff phase of flight is the most serious phase of flight. That is because the aircraft is low & slow & heavy with fuel.

The surviving pilot performed exceptionally well in this situation. 👏🏽👏🏽 Fortunately, the weather was clear so he could make a visual approach back to the airport.

If the pilot was lesser experienced — or if they had been flying in the clouds — that flight might have resulted in catastrophe. The passengers on that flight were blessed.

Inside source now telling me that very shortly after takeoff the aircraft went into a severe banking and luckily the trainer in the copilot seat was able to get control of the aircraft & back to a safer climb

It appears that the dead pilot, Captain in training, Patrick Ford, likely Died on the roll and/or rotation and then inadvertently over-banked the aircraft, which is when the trainer noticed he was incapacitated.

This happened between the runway roll and 2000 feet!

How much is too much?

The trainer, captain Brandon Hendrickson is more than a hero because we are now learning that within these very short few minutes they had two doctors up in the cockpit trying to resuscitate Ford before they even turned the plane back around.

Do you know what it's like to try to keep your cool while all that is going on next to you?

I don't want to hear anybody criticize Training Captain Hendrickson for sounding "emotionless"

I want my pilots "emotionless" during an emergency.
