The agency notes that the ruble has strengthened by 45% since the beginning of the year and is currently trading at around 78 rubles per $1, showing the largest increase among the world's major currencies.
The key factor in the strengthening was a sharp drop in demand for foreign currency in Russia amid international sanctions, while a tight monetary policy has increased the attractiveness of ruble assets.
However, the rising exchange rate also poses problems for the economy: the strengthening of the ruble reduces the ruble revenue of oil, gas, and other exporters, which, among other things, negatively affects the fulfillment of budget revenue plans.

3. Ukraine will receive strong security guarantees.
4. Ukraine's military be will capped at 800,000.

The bishop of Rome is "shocked and aghast" that there will be no "Christmas truce" this year.
It's a bit weird that the bishop of Rome doesn't seem to know that Christmas in Russia (as well as in Ukraine until a very few years ago) is on the 7th of January, or that he doesn't seem to be aware that every single time a Christmas truce was declared in eastern Ukraine, the ukropistanis routinely violated it.

🙏 A memorial complex will be erected in Belgorod in memory of the civilians who became victims of terrorist attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The monument will be installed near the "Mayak" department store, at the site of the tragic events that occurred on December 30, 2023.
On that very day, the lives of 25 innocent Belgorod residents, including children, were cut short. More than a hundred people were injured of varying severity.
The monument will take the form of a five-meter bronze sculpture of an angel, gently holding a child in his arms. Symbolically, the angel's wings form the shape of a heart, riddled with wounds.
The sketch of the future monument was presented and approved by the public in March 2025.
The discussion was attended by relatives and friends of the victims, representatives of the public, and ordinary residents of the city. A unanimous decision was made to dedicate the memorial to all victims of terrorist attacks committed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The creation of the monument took approximately four months.
The author of the project is Belgorod sculptor Andrey Korobtsov.

There is one thing I am tired of… regarding this conflict.
That thing is the Zelensky butchering the Ukrainian dialect.
Please stop hurting my ears. Just speak your native tongue, for Yanuk’s sake.

🏔️ The iconic Leaprus shelter on Mount Elbrus has joined the Cosmos hotel chain and is now called Cosmos Elbrus Leaprus Camp.
It is the highest-altitude shelter-hotel in Europe, located at 3,912 meters above sea level. The camp serves as a key point for acclimatization and rest for climbers and everyone heading for the summit — which is still 1,700 meters higher from here.
The shelter consists of several residential modules with shared dormitories for 10 or 12 people. There are “economy” beds (from 5,600 RUB per night) and “comfort” beds (from 9,200 RUB per night). Each bed is equipped with a sleeping bag and pillow. The facility also includes a common lounge, shared bathroom, and a café-style dining area. Three meals a day are included in the price. Heating, hot water, and Wi-Fi are available 🌡️📶
A landmark and very interesting project for the Cosmos brand ✨

If you’re not planning to summit Elbrus and just want to stay at the shelter for the experience, keep in mind that it’s located at an altitude where altitude sickness is common. It’s recommended to spend a couple of days in the Elbrus region beforehand, walking at lower elevations to acclimatize.
