City of Buenos Aires, February 28, 2026 – The Office of the President informs that President Javier G. Milei has ordered the national security level to be raised to HIGH throughout the Argentine territory, in light of publicly known events that occurred today in the Middle East.
The measure applies to all sensitive targets in the country, as well as critical infrastructure and the Jewish community, among others, with the purpose of ensuring the integrity, life, and liberty of the inhabitants within the national territory. In this context, through the competent ministry, protective and security measures will be strengthened on a preventive basis, including reinforced security for foreign diplomatic missions in the country.
Likewise, by presidential instruction, the National Intelligence System will permanently monitor developments, in cooperation with international agencies, to ensure the immediate detection of potential risks or threats to national security.
Additionally, a border alert protocol has been activated, involving reinforced entry and exit controls, increased traceability of cross-border movements, and the review of early warning alerts in areas considered sensitive. The framework includes coordination between the State Intelligence Secretariat, the Ministry of National Security through the National Directorate of Migration, and the Federal Security Forces.
The National Government reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the defense of life, liberty, and constitutional order, and will continue to adopt all necessary measures to preserve the security of Argentines amid a high-tension international scenario.
