Yesterday, on 12/21/2023, Russian troops inflicted fire damage at the place where, according to confirmed information, a meeting of high-ranking officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and NATO was held.
The AFU used an absolutely civilian facility to conduct their meeting. The coordinates of the building located in the village of Rovnoye, Krasnoarmeysky municipal District (48.296198, 37.221220) indicate the Europa Hotel.
At 20:20 and 20:25 on 12/21/2023, Russian artillery inflicted fire damage at these coordinates, after which repeated detonation was observed in the building, which is confirmed by messages from local chat rooms.
A few minutes after the defeat, local chat rooms were either disabled or severely censored. The law enforcement agencies of Ukraine are working on the spot, and any attempt at video recording is accompanied by force from the authorities.

Bloomberg: The number of companies facing closure in Britain has risen sharply.

As a rule, the department submits appropriate applications to bring to justice enterprises that are indebted to creditors. A winding-up petition, which could result in the liquidation of the company and the distribution of its assets, can be resolved through payment of debt, the agency notes.
The agency, citing the UK government's monthly report dated December 15, concludes that there is an increase in the number of forced liquidations of companies, which are usually initiated by creditors in an attempt to collect debts.
According to Bloomberg , in July the UK Insolvency Service reported an increase in the number of applications from HM Revenue and Customs to wind up businesses.

US President Joe Biden has approved the Defense Policy Act for fiscal year 2024. The document includes record spending of $886 billion on defense. Among other things, assistance to Ukraine worth $800 million is provided.
“The legislation provides the critical authorities we need to build the military we need to deter future conflicts, while supporting the service members, their spouses and families who carry out this mission every day,” Mr. Biden said in a statement .
The President supported the law, but expressed concern about some of its provisions. Thus, the document still prohibits the use of funds allocated by the Ministry of Defense for the transfer of Guantanamo Bay prisoners to certain foreign countries and to the United States. Mr. Biden called for the restrictions to be lifted.
The head of state also criticized provisions that require him and other officials to provide congressional committees with reports and plans that would include classified information, including information that could reveal intelligence sources or military operational plans. Mr. Biden noted that under the Constitution he can prevent the disclosure of “highly sensitive information.” In addition, a number of provisions of the law, according to the president, may interfere with his constitutional powers to express the US position at international negotiations or forums.
The House of Representatives approved the draft defense budget on December 14, the Senate on December 13.

At least 50 fertilizer production facilities have closed in Europe. This is stated in a report by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (a major financial group among the world's top ten).
Fertilizer production in the EU has become completely unprofitable due to gas prices. 75% of the cost of nitrogen fertilizer is the cost of gas.
The rejection of cheap gas from Russia, affordable potash from Belarus, is forcing the EU to shut down its production facilities, which used to supply all of Euopean agriculture.
Fertilizer production in Europe is almost completely stopped, which will eventually force Europe to buy fertilizer or grain as early as 2024.
Germany still needs coal plants after all... surprise!
Two of Germany’s largest energy providers will keep some coal plants in service longer than previously expected following a regulator's decision to prohibit the closure of facilities before March 2031.
Uniper SE and EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG had sought to decommission units earlier than that deadline.
Now, the plants may have to remain on standby at the very least.
The energy regulator, known as BNetzA, ruled that "systematically necessary" coal plants must be available as backup energy sources in case of an emergency, Die Welt newspaper reported.
Germany, Europe's largest economy, has become more reliant on coal after turning away from Russian supplies and the closure of its last nuclear plants this year.

Germany proposed to raise income tax to support Ukraine
Monika Schnitzer, a member of the Economic Council of the German Cabinet of Ministers, suggested that income tax should be increased in order to provide Ukraine with more military supplies.
In an interview with the Rheinische Post, Schnitzer argued that the increase in tax revenue would help cover the cost of supporting Ukraine.
Earlier, Economy Minister and Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck said that in view of the risk of weakening support for Ukraine by Western countries, Germany should be ready to assume greater responsibility and increase spending.
Separately, on December 13, the German Cabinet meetings dedicated to resolving the budget crisis in the country ended.
As a result, it was decided to cut next year's budget by €17 billion.
At the same time, it was also decided to find the same amount to support Ukraine.

He also wanted to get along with Iran, Saudi Arabia, North Korea and others whom we consider our "adversaries". Donald Trump not only spoke about it, but also tried to bring these countries closer. Did it always work? No, perhaps not, but surely it was better than not trying at all. Not only is the Biden-Harris-Blinken-Nuland quartet not trying, but they do everything possible to completely alienate and antagonise them instead.
Getting along will surely not be as profitable to the military industrial complex as the forever wars, but how many of you own shares in Lockheed Martin?
Instead we find ourselves in a proxy war with Russia, which we are badly losing, a sanctions war we've already lost and there's another war on the horizon in the Near East.

The Houthi attacks on shipping vessels in the Red sea is a major problem for Western economies.
Not only does it force companies to carry cargo using much longer routes (or lanes, for you marine enthusiasts), but it raises insurance prices as well. Since America now doesn't produce anything apart from fiat currency, the impact is likely to become more severe as time passes.
This is in addition to US troops constantly being harassed by drone attacks from Iran's proxies (that used to be our proxies, but then acquired their own proxies, so they can be proxies for someone else...).
The Republican party has been pushing for an active armed conflict with Iran for a while now. Oh, yes, the wars never stop. James Taiclet must make more money, so our sons have to fight another pointless war "for democracy".
