🇲🇲 Opinion — Two options here, with the first being more likely. The Tatmadaw/military wins the election, probably through interference. They then double down on the civil war, using the election to claim they have a popular mandate. Second option is that they allow opposition parties to run, who likely would win. I could see them doing this as the military has been slowly losing and disintegrating over the last few years. They can tell that they are likely going to lose and be disbanded in the long term, and could use the elections as a ceasefire, to return to the status quo of before the civil war.
