💭After Israel occupied the Golan Heights in 1967 during the Six-Day War, the idea of creating a Druze state resurfaced.

📝Israel's plan envisioned a state that would stretch from the Jabal al-Druze region in southern Syria to parts of Mount Lebanon, particularly areas in the Shouf district, where there is a significant Druze presence.

🚫The main objective of the plan was, creating a buffer zone between itself and hostile Arab nations, particularly Syria and Lebanon, putting this state as cannon fodder, promoting sectarian division which would weaken the unified Arab resistance to Israel's existence and expansionist policies.

🇮🇱📞🇸🇾Israel reached out to Druze leaders in Syria and Lebanon, proposing the creation of a Druze state. these leaders pretended to entertain the idea to avoid retaliation but secretly worked against it.
Notable figures in the region, such as Sultan Pasha al-Atrash's descendants, are believed to have strongly rejected the plan.

📄The plan goes as follows:

➡️Israel would invade Southern parts of Syria, arm and train Druze militias, presenting them as independent resistance forces against Israeli occupation. These groups would be portrayed as fighting for autonomy rather than integration into broader Arab states like Syria.

➡️The militias, under Israel's influence, would stage a pseudo-resistance movement against Israeli forces to gain legitimacy and popular support in the region.

➡️After sufficient groundwork, Israel would withdraw its forces from Druze-majority areas, leaving the impression that these groups had "liberated" their territory independently.

➡️Once established, the Druze leadership—aligned with Israeli interests—would declare independence, creating a new state allied with Israel.

🇸🇾📞🇸🇾🇱🇧🇪🇬The Druze leaders Israel discussed with have reached out to Nasser, Lebanese and Syrian Druze leaders which made the plan fail, especially after Iraq and Syria sent reinforcements to the Israeli borders to be prepared for any similar scenarios.

Hezbollah condemns the treacherous Zionist aggression that targeted Syria in a blatant assault on its territory. Israel hides behind flimsy pretexts and slogans to implement its expansionist and divisive projects, which aim to dismantle and divide Syria and sow discord among its people.

This Zionist aggression is a clear attempt to undermine the stability of the Syrian state and weaken its capabilities. It comes in the same context as its ongoing attacks on Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

We, in Hezbollah, stress the need to preserve the unity and sovereignty of Syria as an independent state. We express our confidence that the honorable people of Syria will be a strong barrier against these suspicious schemes. We call on the international community, particularly Arab countries, to take urgent action to halt this aggression against the countries of the region and their stability, sovereignty, and security.
