The +Alpha Supporter Medals are also now available on the Store until the 31st of March. They cost 30,800 CMU each.

Note that the Elite medal is only visible if you have 40 million (or more) AP, the C.O.R.E. medal is only visible if you are currently subscribed to C.O.R.E.

Niantic has released some small details about the Year of the Snake event!

Apparently, it will run from the 29th to the 31st local time and focus on Glyphing and Recharging, likely with rewards given out via a special Campaign during the event.

The Year of the Snake Celebration event has started to appear in the Campaign tab, giving us (probably) a glimpse at the newest Festive Badge, celebrating the year of the snake. If we take the past badges into consideration, this badge should be available for 2500 CMU, likely once the event starts.

By popular demand, the "Lunar New Year 2024" (Year of Dragon) medal will return to the in-app store for a limited time.

Available from January 25th, 16:00 UTC to January 28th, 16:00 UTC, this offer is exclusive to C.O.R.E. subscribers who have not yet acquired the medal.

Heads up! Niantic lowered the requirements for accessing Niantic Wayfarer down to Level 8, but introduced a bug which applies the new, lower restrictions to Recursed Agents as well.

If you have Recursed but have not yet reached Level 8 again you're currently locked out of submitting stuff or accessing Wayfarer via your Ingress account.

We have just reported on an issue that prevented some people from logging into the game. This issue has been resolved already.

For transparency sake, the main channel post has been removed as the issue was fixed within 10 minutes, leaving it up may cause confusion for other Agents even if it's edited.

Niantic has released Update 2.159.1 into the App Stores!

When starting the app, tips will now be shown on the loading screen with the intention of helping out new Agents.

A few fixes have also made their way to the Scanner. A fix for an animation with ADA was made in the tutorial, the animation for receiving a medal in the Dispatch screen was fixed and the mission button to close the details of a Bounty was re-added.

Agent @KodBilenAdam has reached out to us with the following message:

"We all know how valuable Media is in Ingress for some Agents. Whether it's for lore, nostalgia, or just collecting rare pieces of the game’s history, managing Media has always been a challenge due to inventory limits.

The idea? A Media Locker—a premium feature similar to Key Lockers, dedicated to storing Media separately from an Agents main inventory.

The Event page on the Intel map has fixed the issue with Agents in certain timezones not being able to view it, resulting in a black screen instead. Now all Agents, no matter their timezone, should be able to access it.

Agents have spotted that Niantic has used the "Events & offers" feature on Google Play for the first time, advertising the upcoming +Alpha Anomaly to every user visiting the Ingress Prime store page.
