The PA and Israel agree on little. But the toxicity of Qatar-owned Al-Jazeera is apparently common ground.

A lot of talk right now about the release of Marwan Barghouti in a possible hostage deal. This would pave his path to head of the Palestinian Authority. Hard to imagine Bibi agrees to this. But pressure on Israel to get a deal done is real.
Israel will not trade the body of Yahya Sinwar in the proposed hostage deal, per reports.

I spent a fair amount of time studying the Israel-Hamas hostage deal over the last 2 days. I don’t love it. But I get why Israel is doing it. If, in the end, Israeli diplomacy returns 140-150 hostages (total), it’s not for non-Israelis to judge. The trauma of this war must end.
