Wishing all a happy, healthy, prosperous, and peaceful 2025.

Happy new year.
I will be heading on @i24NEWS in a few minutes to talk about the Houthis and the state of the Middle East in 2025. Have a watch.
🚨🚨🚨The Palestinian Authority decided to suspend Al-Jazeera broadcast and operations in the West Bank and Gaza claiming the network violated Palestinian law. The move come amid the highly critical coverage by Al-Jazeera of the Palestinian security forces operation in Jenin
The @FDD Morning Brief is back tomorrow:

Tune in, catch my thoughts on the war with the Houthis, and hear from @kenwstein about the legacy of Jimmy Carter.
A lot of talk right now about the release of Marwan Barghouti in a possible hostage deal. This would pave his path to head of the Palestinian Authority. Hard to imagine Bibi agrees to this. But pressure on Israel to get a deal done is real.
Israel will not trade the body of Yahya Sinwar in the proposed hostage deal, per reports.

Lots of random stuff like this flying around right now.
I spent a fair amount of time studying the Israel-Hamas hostage deal over the last 2 days. I don’t love it. But I get why Israel is doing it. If, in the end, Israeli diplomacy returns 140-150 hostages (total), it’s not for non-Israelis to judge. The trauma of this war must end.
The only real question now is whether Hamas (or less likely, Israel) tries to change the terms agreed upon. What is written isn’t always what is understood or desired.
