"Now our thoughts and souls are occupied with other things, since war started in Ukraine. All days we are busy with activity that can support our country in any possible way, coordinating information via social media (that became a wartime full-scale instrument for helping each other), finding accommodation for refugees, collecting and making donations for urgent causes (as we follow how the situation is changing in real time and adopt donating to the most urgent cause of the moment). Now we see our art as one of the ways, not just to inspire people, but to physically support somebody’s health and life, as we donate a lot of funds from selling our prints and NFTs to support Ukraine" - Ukrainian duo Synchrodogs for SuperRare Editorial

LAST HUMAN MOTHER AND BABY- NFT BY UKRAINIAN ARTIST BELIAEVA.

The artwork of Julia Beliaeva consist of two pieces – a digital print and virtual world, which can be entered by using virtual reality gear. In this way the viewer is invited into the picture to explore a dystopian scenario where only the savage self-reproducing nature and helpless people survive, including the last mother and her baby left alone in jungle.
The use of virtual reality glasses brings the viewer back to the golden age of the primeval times. It is the way it was seen by “naive” painter Henri Rousseau, whose painting The Hungry Lion Throws Itself on the Antelope (1905) is reinterpreted in the animated jungle scene. Beliaeva has replaced the hungry lion and its prey with herself and her son with raises doubts about the mother’s intentions: Is she licking her baby in an act of care or is the gesture a deadly warning? Is she taking or losing control of her instinctive acts in survival situation? - 1stDIBS

Kenny Schachter is an art writer, curator, digital artist and the second name coming to our minds when we hear "NFT". Recently he demonstrated how art/crypto community could actually help to those who need it most.
Kenny teamed up with David Cash and proposed to artists around the globe to donate their NFTs and support Ukraine in its fight against Russian invasion. In no time, a collection ennoscriptd NFTUkraine was launched. The list of participating artists is growing, and all proceeds will be donated to the official Ukrainian government-sanctioned ETH account.
The point is to band together to help in whatever way possible to address the unprovoked atrocities at the hand of (now) war criminal Vladimir Putin - artnet news
You can check the collection on OpenSea: NFTUkraine
Perhaps some unique work is waiting for you there.

Takashi Murakami and RTFKT revealed some footage from Murakami's upcoming exhibition at Gagosian galleries in New York.

"An Arrow through History", an exhibition of never-before-seen works by Takashi Murakami, open on May 11.

The body of exhibition will consist of sculptures and paintings based on his NFT projects (CloneX and Murakami.flowers) alongside new paintings on circular canvases inspired by a fish motif on a Qinghua porcelain.

The show is aimed to bridge Murakami's art in digital and physical realms and will be augmented by experiential virtual components. It is very curious that this time physical canvases are inspired by born-digital NFT artworks and not vice versa.

It was also revealed that after a long hesitation, Gagosian finally decided to accept cyber money for art. Through a partnership with the exchange platform Coinbase, the gallery will henceforth accept payments in Bitcoin, Ether, and USD Coin.

Studio DRIFT will stage indoor aerial drone performance noscriptd Social Sacrifice alongside the 2022 Venice Art Biennale.

Performance is commissioned by Aorist, cultural institution supporting a climate-forward NFT marketplace for artists creating at the edge of art and technology.

For more than 10 years, DRIFT has been working with researchers to study flocking behaviour in nature and created a biological algorithm that simulates the natural flight patterns of starlings. With the help of artificial intelligence, DRIFT reproduces these emergent feats of synchronicity visible in the movements of birds, bees, and fish and transforms them into performative installations using autonomous flying drones.

In Venice, Social Sacrifice will animate a flying school of A.I. fish that will “swim” through the Church of San Lorenzo every evening.

The event is accompanied by a series of NFTs available on the Aorist platform.

New exciting project by Swedish artist Jonas Lund is out at the Aorist marketplace. And it is an example of art practice and NFT tech making a perfect match.

MVP (Most Valuable Painting) is an online participatory project questioning how we define the meaning of value in contemporary art across aesthetics, sales, engagement, and influence.

MVP consists of 512 individual digital paintings that evolve and transform based on public reception, until they are acquired. Once an MVP is sold and minted as an NFT, the visual properties of that work will determine the aesthetic evolution of the remaining works, which slowly optimize their features and composition to mimic the characteristics of the more desirable paintings.

Each MVP’s aesthetic outcome is determined by a fitness algorithm that tracks each individual MVP’s performance in terms of likes, clicks, and user engagement.

It is fair to say that the last painting will gain the most "wanted" features of all the items, ultimately becoming the most valuable one.

512 digital paintings are on view across 36 outdoor screens at London’s W1 Curates.

You might remember Luna Ikuta, the artist behind permanently ephemeral floating flowers that can bring you to the state of existence at the very edge of total disappearance.

Today, April 11th, she proposes the present which non of us probably deserves.

REMEMBER ME is Luna's first dynamic NFT available on the afterlife.garden for 24 hours as live mint. It is completely open to the public, which means it's free. You will have to pay only for the gas.

Luna says that the code became the heart of the artwork and that she wanted to tell a story rather than only highlight the final result. Find ways to celebrate the mechanics that are unique to the blockchain that provide value to the overall experience.

Mint opens today at 8AM PST.
Don't miss your chance to own the flower from afterlife garden. It is kinda inevitable 😈

Fashion for Peace NFT Collection by Vogue Singapore x Vogue Ukraine.

Calling on Ukrainian and Ukrainian-based creatives Vogue Ukraine and Vogue Singapore are joining forces to help raise funds for humanitarian aid in Ukraine in wake of the ongoing Russian invasion of the country.

This special collaboration sees artworks, sketches and photographs available on ethereum-based platform OpenSea. Each NFT is available in 50 editions at 0.5ETH each.

All proceeds will be donated to the charity Save The Children Ukraine. With traditional banking institutions and infrastructures under attack, cryptocurrency has never been more of a useful medium than now. Thanks to the power of smart contracts attached to NFTs, this also ensures a royalty from each secondary sale in perpetuity goes directly to the charity as well.
