Takashi Murakami and RTFKT revealed some footage from Murakami's upcoming exhibition at Gagosian galleries in New York.
"An Arrow through History", an exhibition of never-before-seen works by Takashi Murakami, open on May 11.
The body of exhibition will consist of sculptures and paintings based on his NFT projects (CloneX and Murakami.flowers) alongside new paintings on circular canvases inspired by a fish motif on a Qinghua porcelain.
The show is aimed to bridge Murakami's art in digital and physical realms and will be augmented by experiential virtual components. It is very curious that this time physical canvases are inspired by born-digital NFT artworks and not vice versa.
It was also revealed that after a long hesitation, Gagosian finally decided to accept cyber money for art. Through a partnership with the exchange platform Coinbase, the gallery will henceforth accept payments in Bitcoin, Ether, and USD Coin.

Studio DRIFT will stage indoor aerial drone performance noscriptd Social Sacrifice alongside the 2022 Venice Art Biennale.
Performance is commissioned by Aorist, cultural institution supporting a climate-forward NFT marketplace for artists creating at the edge of art and technology.
For more than 10 years, DRIFT has been working with researchers to study flocking behaviour in nature and created a biological algorithm that simulates the natural flight patterns of starlings. With the help of artificial intelligence, DRIFT reproduces these emergent feats of synchronicity visible in the movements of birds, bees, and fish and transforms them into performative installations using autonomous flying drones.
In Venice, Social Sacrifice will animate a flying school of A.I. fish that will “swim” through the Church of San Lorenzo every evening.
The event is accompanied by a series of NFTs available on the Aorist platform.

New exciting project by Swedish artist Jonas Lund is out at the Aorist marketplace. And it is an example of art practice and NFT tech making a perfect match.
MVP (Most Valuable Painting) is an online participatory project questioning how we define the meaning of value in contemporary art across aesthetics, sales, engagement, and influence.
MVP consists of 512 individual digital paintings that evolve and transform based on public reception, until they are acquired. Once an MVP is sold and minted as an NFT, the visual properties of that work will determine the aesthetic evolution of the remaining works, which slowly optimize their features and composition to mimic the characteristics of the more desirable paintings.
Each MVP’s aesthetic outcome is determined by a fitness algorithm that tracks each individual MVP’s performance in terms of likes, clicks, and user engagement.
It is fair to say that the last painting will gain the most "wanted" features of all the items, ultimately becoming the most valuable one.
512 digital paintings are on view across 36 outdoor screens at London’s W1 Curates.

You might remember Luna Ikuta, the artist behind permanently ephemeral floating flowers that can bring you to the state of existence at the very edge of total disappearance.
Today, April 11th, she proposes the present which non of us probably deserves.
REMEMBER ME is Luna's first dynamic NFT available on the afterlife.garden for 24 hours as live mint. It is completely open to the public, which means it's free. You will have to pay only for the gas.
Luna says that the code became the heart of the artwork and that she wanted to tell a story rather than only highlight the final result. Find ways to celebrate the mechanics that are unique to the blockchain that provide value to the overall experience.
Mint opens today at 8AM PST.
Don't miss your chance to own the flower from afterlife garden. It is kinda inevitable 😈

Ukrainian artist Nikita Shalenny launched his first NFT series "Project Takeover".
Takeover is about the cynicism and violence that Russians show towards Ukrainians, trying to take away their freedom, their lives, and their land.
The artist reflects on atrocities made by Russian armed forces in Ukraine through imagining the series of horrific experiments. In this case, the violence is represented as a deliberate and well-planned act instead of random splash of emotions.
A crazy maniac violently takes away victim's limbs, brazenly declaring that these body parts do not belong to the person. The occupation of Transnistria, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Crimea, etc. is the same as taking away another person's body parts - says Nikita.
40% of the raised funds will be donated to humanitarian aid in Ukraine.

Marni enters metaverse.
Bridging the gap between the physical and the digital, Marni is presenting selected runway looks from their latest Spring/Summer 2022 Vol.2 collection through the WEARWEARE digital experience. Working in collaboration with decentralised digital design studio FUTURECORP, Marni is welcoming its users to be the protagonists of the show, with the ability to transform oneself into an avatar, enhancing the physical state through digital technology to create a singular transformative experience. Through the platform, Marni are bringing their inspirations to life, without physical constraints, to foster a meaningful connection between the brand and its consumers.
Consisting of three functionalities, WEARWEARE presents Marni’s SS22 collection through a 3D interactive lookbook, an AR interface and an immersive, virtual environment, which brings users into a cinematic alternate reality. In this world, users are able to add products to their Wishlist while experiencing a digital psychedelic journey, emphasising the possibilities of the integration of fashion and the digital space (Sleek Mag)
And this move doesn't surprise at all. A little reminder that OTB (Only The Brave) Group, the international fashion group that owns global brands Diesel, Maison Margiela, Marni, Viktor & Rolf and others, at the end of 2021, has created a new business unit BVX (Brave Virtual Xperience). The new unit is entirely dedicated to the development of products, projects and experiences designed for the virtual world/metaverse.
“We see NFTs as a tool ... that can generate interest, can generate a new ecosystem, and also, of course, some extra revenues for our brands,” said Stefano Rosso, board member at Diesel- and Margiela-owned OTB (Business of Fashion).

The first digital sneakers by Nike and RTFKT are out now. And it was worth the wait.
The hype started in December 2021 when Nike acquired RTFKT, adding the ultra famous brand of virtual sneakers to the line with the brands like Jordan Brand and Converse.
In February, RTFKT had released NFT MNLTH, mysterious digital box with RTFKT and Nike logos on it. Up to yesterday, holders of this first co-branded NFT spent months solving elaborate riddles to unlock it.
Users will be able to customize their Nike Dunk Genesis CryptoKicks, using exclusive style-changing Skin Vial NFTs.
The brand also promised to launch a quest series to unlock the MNLTH 2 vaults later this year. Each pair of CryptoKicks will also feature an “evolution path” that enables them to be evolved in some way.
There is "verse" in Converse, can we expect some metaconverse any time soon?
