Violent Israeli Raids Forcibly Displace 26,000 Palestinians In West Bank

Israeli military raids in two West Bank refugee camps have displaced thousands of Palestinian families since December.

Thousands of Palestinians have been displaced and dozens of homes have been demolished after more than two weeks of deadly Israeli siege and raids in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, including Jenin refugee camp.

“The Israeli army says they have launched a ‘counterterrorism’ operation to combat armed Palestinian fighters. But if you look at what is going on, you have 26,000 Palestinians who have been forcibly displaced, forced to leave their homes,” said Al Jazeera’s Hamdah Salhut, reporting from Amman, Jordan.

“The Israeli army has detonated homes in Jenin, Tulkarem and now Nablus. The army says some of these homes were used for military infrastructure but did not provide any sort of evidence to prove those claims.

“The Israeli army is levelling residential blocks, mirroring essentially what they have been doing in Gaza, detonating homes and killing many Palestinians,” Salhut said.

The Israeli army received many advance warnings of a possible Hamas attack on the night before 7 October but took no action to warn its soldiers and civilians

On the eve of the 7 October 2023 Hamas attack, an Israel army intelligence unit collected signs of preparation for rocket fire on Israel. The unit also observed unusual activity of the Hamas aerial force but took no steps to notify organizers of the Nova music festival, Hebrew daily Ynet reported on 24 January.

“On the night before the October 7 Hamas massacre, an IDF intelligence unit collected signs of preparation for rocket fire on Israel. The unit also observed unusual activity of the Hamas aerial force that could indicate a transition of the terror group to emergency mode.”

Israel claims that Hamas members killed roughly 1,200 Israeli soldiers and civilians during the attack on Israeli settlements, military bases, and the Nova music festival taking place on the Gaza border.

The Palestinian resistance movement abducted 251 soldiers and civilians during the attack, named ‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.’

However, Israeli forces themselves killed large numbers of Israelis, including burning them alive and burying them under the rubble of their own homes by unleashing helicopter, drone, and tank fire on the settlements and Gaza border areas.

Israeli forces used attack helicopters, drones, and tanks to kill their own civilians and soldiers while blaming the deaths on Hamas

Former Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant has acknowledged ordering the army to use the Hannibal Directive...

During an interview with Israel’s Channel 12 on 7 February, Gallant admitted to ordering the controversial protocol that involves killing captives along with their captors.

When asked whether an order was given to implement the Hannibal Directive, Gallant responded:

“I think that, tactically, in some places, it was given, and in other places, it was not given, and that is a problem.”

Israel claims Hamas killed roughly 1,100 Israeli civilians and soldiers during its attack on Israeli settlements and military bases on 7 October as part of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.

However, Israeli forces killed large numbers of their own civilians and soldiers during the attack. The army dispatched attack helicopters, drones, and tanks on its own territory to respond to the attack...

Israeli helicopters also killed Israeli civilians at the Nova festival, which took place near the Re’im military base.

Gallant also criticized former police security minister Itamar Ben Gvir for his provocative storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, stating that it “was like detonating the situation.”

Gallant made the comments in his first interview since being dismissed as defense minister in November.

The former defense minister said that the current ceasefire deal with Hamas in Gaza is nearly identical to an earlier proposal that Hamas was willing to agree to in April last year.

US Approves $7.4Bn Sale Of More Weapons To Israel Used To Ravage Gaza

State department signs off on bombs and missiles sales that the US claims would help Israel ‘defend its borders’

The United States has announced the approval of the sale of more than $7.4bn in bombs, missiles and related equipment to Israel , which has used American-made weapons to devastating effect during the war in Gaza.

The state department has signed off on the sale of $6.75bn in bombs, guidance kits and fuses, in addition to $660m in Hellfire missiles, according to the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).

The proposed sale of the bombs “improves Israel’s capability to meet current and future threats, strengthen its homeland defense, and serves as a deterrent to regional threats”, the DSCA said in a statement.

The missile sale would “improve Israel’s capability to meet current and future threats by improving the ability of the Israeli Air Force to defend Israel’s borders, vital infrastructure, and population centers”, it said.

Israel launched a hugely destructive offensive in Gaza in October 2023 in response to an unprecedented attack by Hamas that month.

In the wake of Sean "Diddy" Combs' ongoing sex trafficking case, West showed support for the Bad Boy Records founder—who is currently in jail awaiting the May 5 trial for his charges—in a series of controversial messages.

"FREE PUFF," West wrote on X (formerly Twitter) Feb. 6, referring to one of Combs' former stage names, before adding in a separate message, "PUFF WE LOVE YOU."

Dozens Of Palestinians Released From Israeli Jails In Fifth Prisoner Exchange

Many Palestinians freed under the ceasefire agreement for Gaza have been rushed to medical facilities, showing signs of starvation and torture inflicted by their Israeli captors

Israeli authorities released 183 Palestinian prisoners on 8 February, while Hamas released three Israeli captives from Gaza. The exchange completed the fifth round of prisoner releases as part of the Gaza ceasefire agreement reached last month between Hamas and Israel.

WAFA news agency reports that the released Palestinian prisoners include 18 individuals serving life sentences, 54 others with long-term sentences, and 111 detainees from Gaza detained after the start of the war on 7 October 2023.

Freed Palestinian prisoner Shadi Barghouti in an interview:

"No matter what we say, it will never be enough. We are deeply ashamed that our freedom came at such a heavy price. All the prisoners carry the responsibility of ensuring we live up to the task—freedom came at a price… pic.twitter.com/hChrXwJQLE

The Palestinian Prisoner's Society reported that 42 of the prisoners released are from the occupied West Bank, three are from occupied Jerusalem, and 27 are from Gaza.

Additionally, seven prisoners serving life sentences were deported outside of Palestine, including Ahmed Atiyah Jaafari, Abdel Azim Hassan, Imad Abu Ajamiya, Falah Shehada, Montaser Abu Ghalion, Mansour Abu Aoun, and Youssef Iskafi.
