Biden, Blinken, Austin Referred To ICC Over 'intentionally Aiding' Gaza Genocide

Washington has targeted the ICC with sanctions over its arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense chief

The US-based human rights NGO Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN) has formally requested that the International Criminal Court (ICC) launch a probe into former US president Joe Biden and several of his officials for aiding and abetting Israel’s war crimes in the Gaza Strip.

DAWN submitted a 172-page request that argues that Biden, former defense secretary Llyod Austin, and former secretary of state Anthony Blinken ignored and facilitated Israeli crimes against Palestinians during the war on Gaza – which kille... a majority of them women and children.

“This case might face political pushback, but that doesn’t change the message it sends: impunity isn’t a given. If the rule of law is supposed to mean anything, it has to apply across the board – not just to our enemies, but to our friends, and yes, to ourselves,” prosecutor and DAWN board member Reed Brody told the Zeteo media outlet.

“We’re at a turning point. The question is whether the ICC and international law will be … more casualties buried under the rubble of Gaza,” he added.

The filing falls under what is known as an Article 15 communication and highlights how Biden’s government continued to provide military and diplomatic support to Tel Aviv despite its knowledge that the aid was being used to commit war crimes.

This US support includes at least $17.9 billion in military, intelligence, and targeting assistance.

“By continuously and unconditionally providing Political Support and Military Support to Israel while being fully aware of the specific crimes committed by Netanyahu, Gallant, and their subordinates, president Biden, secretary Blinken, and secretary Austin contributed intentionally to the commission of those crimes while at least knowing the intention of the group to commit the Israeli Crimes, if not aiming of furthering such criminal activity,” DAWN’s filing at the ICC reads.

Bibas Family Threatens To Sue Israeli Govt As Official Propaganda On Hostage Killings Unravels

The Bibas family demands the Israeli government cease exploiting the deaths of their family members for propaganda purposes as layers of evidence support claims an Israeli airstrike killed them.

The relatives of an Israeli family killed while in Hamas captivity in Gaza have demanded the government stop making statements attributing blame for the killings of their loved ones, threatening to “take all legal measures at their disposal” if the Netanyahu administration refuses to comply. The request came three days after a declaration by Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari that Palestinian “terrorists” had “deliberately” killed two young members of the Bibas family “with their bare hands.”

Lawyers representing surviving members of the Bibas family have accused government ministries of seeking to exploit their plight for propaganda purposes...

While he survived his time in Hamas and was later released to Israel, his wife, Shiri, and two young sons, Kfir and Ariel, were killed while in the custody of the Mujahedin Brigades, a smaller, lesser known faction. According to a Mujahedin Brigades commander, “When [Shiri Bibas] was captured [on October 7], we sent her children with her out of compassion for them. The Israeli occupation killed her along with her children after bombing them along with their captors.”

The commander also declared that Shiri Bibas had served as a soldier in the Israeli army’s Unit 8200 intelligence division..., and later served in the army’s Gaza Division.

Though Hamas announced that Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas had been killed in an Israeli airstrike in November 2023, Israeli authorities were reluctant to openly acknowledge their fate. During an exchange of captives the following month, Hamas offered to hand over the remains of the dead family members. On December 3, Yarden Bibas delivered a video messaging from captivity stating that his wife and children had been killed in an Israeli airstrike – like dozens of other Israeli hostages – and pleaded with his government to negotiate for their freedom so he could give them a proper burial. But Israel rejected the appeals, and resumed its decimation of the Gaza Strip.

The return of their Bibas family members’ bodies this February 18, and the outrage stoked by the Israeli government in calculated fashion, now threatens to derail the tenuous ceasefire..

Since his release on Feb. 2, Yarden Bibas has neglected to confirm the stunning comments he made while in captivity. However, the open letter his family delivered to top Israeli officials conveyed strident disapproval of the government’s narrative, and contradicts a statement by Hagari ...

Funerals for the deceased Bibas family members are scheduled to take place on Feb. 26. The family has reportedly banned Israeli government officials from attending the ceremony. A day before the funeral, the sister of Yarden Bibas, Ofri, published a Facebook post telling Israeli Prime Minister to “shut up,” and accused him of “abuse for its own sake of a family that has gone through 16 months of hell.”

Israel Wants Full Hamas Disarmament, 'Buffer Zones' In Gaza During Phase Two Of Ceasefire Talks: Report

The ceasefire deal is on the brink of collapsing, and Israel is planning a return to ‘intense warfare’ in the besieged and battered strip

Israel is looking to solidify its presence inside the Gaza Strip in violation of the ceasefire and “dismantle” Hamas militarily, according to an informed source cited by Bloomberg on 25 February.

“Netanyahu’s government wants to create buffer zones in the north and east of Gaza and completely dismantle Hamas’s military capabilities during a phase two,” the source said.

The Israeli army is “supposed to leave the border area with Egypt [as part of the deal], but isn’t planning to do so at the moment,” the source added.

Bloomberg reports that Israel is planning to “extend the Gaza ceasefire when it expires this weekend so as many hostages as possible can be freed – while starting to amass troops for a return to war if required.”

The first 42-day stage of the ceasefire is set to expire on Sunday, 2 March. However, Israel has delayed talks for phase two of the agreement.

Tel Aviv has withheld the release of over 600 Palestinians who were supposed to be released on Saturday and is now demanding the release of the bodies of four additional captives not part of the last round, which saw Hamas release six Israelis and four bodies.

It is also demanding that no ceremonies be held by Hamas during the handover as it has been doing in the last several exchanges...

A source cited by Israeli news outlet Walla said the deal is on “the brink of collapse” if the current crisis is not solved by 27 February, when the final prisoner swap of the first stage is scheduled.

Dr Hussam Abu Safia’s family says he was held in solitary confinement for weeks and given barely enough food

Dr Hussam Abu Safia, the director of north Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital, remains imprisoned by Israel and has faced “severe torture,” according to a statement released by his family on 12 February.

Abu Safia endured “severe torture and mistreatment” at the hands of Israeli jailers after being detained from the battered hospital in late December 2024, his family said on Instagram.

They stated that he was kept in solitary confinement for 24 days before being transferred to Ofer Prison in the occupied West Bank.

They also mentioned that while his health has stabilized, he continues to suffer from chronic high blood pressure and an enlarged heart muscle.

His family noted that he is receiving treatment, but is only provided with one poor-quality meal per day.

Over 160 Gaza Health Workers Remain Trapped In Israeli Torture Camps: Report

Dr Hussam Abu Safia, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, is among the healthcare workers still held by Israel

At least 160 healthcare workers from Gaza, including more than 20 doctors, are believed to still be inside Israeli detention facilities where torture and rape are routine, The Guardian reported on 25 February.

According to Healthcare Workers Watch (HWW), a Palestinian medical NGO, 162 medical staff remain in Israeli detention, including some of Gaza’s most senior physicians, while 24 others remain missing after being abducted by Israeli forces from hospitals during the war. Another 179 were previously detained but have been released.

“Israel’s targeting of the healthcare workforce in this manner is having a devastating impact on the provision of healthcare to Palestinians, with extensive suffering, countless preventable deaths, and the effective eradication of whole medical specialties,” said HWW director Muath Alser.

The Guardian and Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ) have also collected “detailed testimony from seven senior doctors who claimed they were taken from hospitals, ambulances and checkpoints in Gaza, illegally transferred across the border into Israeli-run prison facilities and subjected to months of torture, beatings, starvation, and inhumane treatment before being released without charge.”

Among the senior doctors detained by Israeli forces is Dr Hussam Abu Safia, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, who was detained in December.

Syrian Druze Take To The Streets Of Suwayda In Protest Against Israeli, Turkish Occupation

Protests erupted in response to the Israeli prime minister's demand that southern Syria be 'demilitarized' and his claim that Israel must 'protect' the country's Druze minority

Hundreds of residents of the Syrian city of Suwayda and its countryside joined protests against any foreign intervention or attempts to divide the country in response to recent comments by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanding the demilitarization of southern Syria, Hawar News Agency reported on 25 February.

Protestors in the Druze majority city emphasized “the importance of unity to confront foreign attempts aimed at occupying Syrian lands, primarily the Turkish and Israeli occupations.”

Protestors chanted the slogan, “From Suwayda to Qamishlo, and from Deraa to Idlib ... Syria belongs to the Syrians, and it is not the property of any alliance or mandate.”

They emphasized that Syria's Sunni, Christian, Druze, and Kurdish communities “are united by a single history and an indivisible identity represented by citizenship on the geography of the country.”

Participants directed sharp criticisms at the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Netanyahu, whose forces occupy Syrian land, saying that they "are not guardians of the Syrians."

Israel Inflicts ‘Unprecedented’ Destruction In Tulkarem Camp

Over 12,000 have been displaced from Tulkarem Camp as health and education services remain at a standstill

Essential services in the occupied West Bank’s Tulkarem Refugee Camp have been at a complete halt as a result of Israel’s violent and “unprecedented” campaign of destruction against the city, which comes as part of a widescale operation also targeting other cities in the territory.

“Education is still suspended, and thus 2,000 male and female students studying in the four UNRWA schools in the camp have been deprived of education for more than a month in addition to the suspension of health services for the camp residents,” the head of the Popular Committee in Tulkarem Camp, Faisal Salama, said on 25 February.

Salama added that all medical services in the camp remain frozen due to the Israeli siege. He also said the destruction of infrastructure in Tulkarem Camp is “unprecedented.”

Israel’s brutal attack on Tulkarem has now entered its 30th day. Over 12,000 people have been expelled from their homes, scattering across the city and neighboring villages to find shelter.

More than 40 buildings have been totally decimated in Tulkarem, while hundreds of shops have been damaged or destroyed.

Israeli occupation forces have also been waging an assault on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp, which has been ongoing for 36 days.

“The number of displaced people from the Jenin Camp has reached 20,000, and about 430 homes have been completely or partially destroyed, 2000 students have been deprived of attending their schools, and about 178 people from the city and the camp have been detained since the beginning of the aggression,” reported WAFA news agency.

According to Israel's Channel 12, the occupation forces are looking to construct roads in the West Bank, replicating the infamous Netzarim corridor in Gaza, aimed at preventing resistance fighters from planting explosives and providing faster routes for occupation forces.
