Haaretz Expose: Netanyahu Dismissed Shin Bet's Warning Of War In Gaza 5 Months Before Hamas' October 7 Attack

Five months before Hamas' October 7 invasion of Israeli communities near the Gaza border, Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of a future military campaign in Gaza – an admonition that Netanyahu rejected, Haaretz has learned.

In their meeting on May 21, 2023, following the conclusion of Operation Shield and Arrow, in which the IDF operated against the Islamic Jihad in Gaza, Bar told the prime minister that the operation was "the first round against the Shi'ite axis. Time will tell as far as the deterrence goes. We should prepare for an opening blow, for a round of targeted assassinations. Hamas is the next challenge at our doorstep," adding that an operation in Gaza would be "unavoidable."

Netanyahu disagreed and argued that Hamas was deterred, telling Bar that Israel had "a strong balance of fear with Hamas."

Bar also referred to the tensions pervading the West Bank at the time – following a wave of terror attacks orchestrated by Hamas in Gaza – arguing that the question of launching a campaign against Hamas "will confront us either as a result of a broad operation in Judea and Samaria [West Bank] or as a result of something else."...

While Bar did not call on Netanyahu to take immediate action against Hamas, his arguments during the May 2023 meeting directly contradict the prime minister's claim on Tuesday that the Shin Bet chief "failed to read the intelligence picture and was captive to the prevailing conception" that Hamas was deterred.

Syria's Druze: Caught Between Old Loyalties And New Threats

In HTS-governed Syria, the Druze community faces an uncertain future – caught between Salafi extremist rule, Israeli overtures, and their historical fight for self-preservation. Whether they secure autonomy or become geopolitical pawns, their next move will impact the region.

The Druze neighborhood of Jaramana, near Damascus, was the first bloody flashpoint in the latest developments concerning this Syrian minority community. On 1 March, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)-led security forces and the Druze clashed for the first time, resulting in one death and nine injuries. What unfolds next will have profound implications, especially in Suwayda and its surrounding areas, where the Druze community is densely concentrated.

Understanding the evolving dynamic between the Druze and the new Syrian administration is impossible without factoring in Israel's recent maneuvers in Syria. Tel Aviv has been working to establish a legal and operational foothold in southern Syria under the guise of supporting the Druze. This shift in policy saw Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instruct the Israeli military to “protect” a community that had long resisted Israeli overtures.

A history of resistance and hard choices

This is not the first time Syria's Druze have faced a historical crossroads. Nearly a century ago, the French offered them autonomy, an attractive proposition that was ultimately rejected. Instead, they fiercely resisted French rule between 1925 and 1927, and later played a significant role in Syria's fight for independence in 1947 under the leadership of Sultan Pasha al-Atrash. Now, the Druze find themselves at another pivotal moment, but the conditions have changed dramatically.

The regime change war in Syria, which spanned nearly 14 years, culminated in the collapse of the government of former president Bashar al-Assad last December. Virtually all civilian actors who shaped the early uprising have been sidelined.

🚨📊 American Support For Israel Hits Record Low—New Poll📉

New polling from Gallup has found support for Israel among Americans has hit "the lowest in 25 years" of the company's annual tracking—well below 50 percent—as sympathy towards Palestinians has continued a steady upward trend.

The U.S. has proven Israel's staunchest ally since the October 7, supporting Israel even against seeming overwhelming pressure in the United Nations. The U.S. used its veto power on the Security Council to knock back resolutions, arguing that the resolutions must require the release of hostages taken by Hamas.

The issue hit home throughout the conflict, with protests at college campuses across the country that drew headlines for their occasional clashes between protesters and counter-protesters or police. Antisemitic incidents and sentiments also rose not only in the U.S. but in Europe as well.

The newest polling from Gallup found support for Israel among American adults dropped to 46 percent in 2025, dipping below 50 percent for the first time during the time Gallup has tracked this topic—which appears to be since 2001.

At the same time, support for Palestinians has risen to 33 percent, breaking 30 percent for just the second time in that period. The first spike occurred in 2023, but sentiment dropped in 2024 before jumping back up again.

The latest polling took place between February 3 and 16 during the temporary ceasefire and hostage exchange between Israel and Hamas that started in January. The poll also found 40 percent of American adults support Trump's handling of the situation.

Support broadly follows party lines, with Republicans more likely to support Israel and Democrats more likely to support Palestinians: Democrats have 59 percent support for Palestinians versus 21 percent support for Israel, while Republicans have 75 percent support for Israel versus 10 percent support for Palestinians.

The independent support roughly lines up with the overall average, with 42 percent for Israel and 34 percent for Palestinians.

A key finding, however, is that the majority of Democrats and independents support an independent Palestinian state, with Republican support hovering a little under majority support: Around 76 percent of Democrats, 53 percent of independents and 41 percent of Republicans support an independent Palestinian state.

The Republican support had been at that level prior to October 7, 2023, with support dropping to around 25 percent in 2024, but that support has rebounded in 2025.

Report: US Believes Israel Leaked Information About Direct Talks With Hamas in Attempt to Sabotage Them — Times of Israel

US government officials have accused Israel of leaking information to the media about the Trump administration’s would-be-secret direct negotiations with Hamas in an attempt to sabotage the talks, the Ynet news outlet reports.

According to the report, Israel was not informed of the talks between the US and Hamas ahead of time, as a previous attempt to hold such a meeting had been canceled following pressure from Jerusalem.

As such, Ynet reports, when the US decided to go ahead with the talks despite Israel’s stance, it was decided that Jerusalem would not be informed of their existence. Nevertheless, when Israel’s point man on the hostages, Maj. Gen. (res.) Nitzan Alon, got wind of the talks, he informed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about their existence.

The first media reports regarding the existence of the talks between the US and Hamas appeared less than a day after Netanyahu was informed of them, Ynet says, leading the US to suspect it was behind the leak.

Citing US officials, the report suggests that Israel leaked the information with the intent of sabotaging the talks as it is opposed to being left in the dark as other parties make arrangements for the future of the Gaza Strip.

Furthermore, the report suggests that Jerusalem opposes the talks as it is concerned that the US will lose interest in pursuing a complete hostage deal for all remaining captives if it succeeds in freeing the five US citizens held by the Gaza terror group.

He claims to have "covered Peter Thiel multiple times" which is a lie. He's spoke about Thiel one time, buried in an hours long Old State Saloon presentation on Carbyne911, whose co-conspirators Jeffrey Epstein and Ehud Barak appear in his "Elon ratio", but Thiel's name is mysteriously absent. I personally think that he is being funded/promoted by some of the people in this thread, but it's not clear exactly who or how.

Here is a list of other things that are extremely fishy...

Any time he is called out on it, he becomes extremely condescending and dismissive, instead of having the integrity to address these glaring blind-spots.
