❗️ Gaza aid flotilla boats attacked by drones overnight

Organizers of the Gaza-bound Global Sumud aid flotilla said several of their vessels near Greece came under drone harassment and explosions overnight. The flotilla reported “multiple drones, unidentified objects dropped, communications jammed and explosions heard from a number of boats.”

Footage from the Spectre boat captured one of the blasts, while a video by Enzo Pianetti aboard Sirius showed mast lights dotting the horizon as ships clustered together, with explosions breaking out intermittently.

Captains coordinated positions through the night as drones circled overhead. Activists said at least 12 explosions hit nine boats, keeping crews on high alert.

Earlier accounts said a drone sprayed chemicals on a passenger, though no injuries were reported. Another video showed a flash bang striking a ship and destroying its main mast.

❗️Erdogan, Trump hail ‘fruitful’ meeting with Arab, Muslim leaders on Gaza

Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he was “pleased” with the results of a “fruitful” meeting in New York between US President Donald Trump and Arab and Muslim leaders on ending Israel’s war on Gaza. Trump echoed the sentiment, calling the talks with “all of the big players except Israel” on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly “successful,” even as Israel continues its deadly bombardment of Gaza.

The closed-door meeting was attended by leaders from Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and the UAE. While no official details have been released, US media reported that Trump is pushing Arab and Muslim states to send military forces to Gaza to facilitate an Israeli withdrawal and to secure funding for reconstruction programs.

❗️Colombian president calls for 'international army' to liberate Palestine

Colombian President Gustavo Petro told the UN General Assembly that the world must form an international army to “liberate Palestine” and confront genocide in Gaza.

He urged nations opposed to US and NATO-backed “tyranny and totalitarianism” to unite their forces, declaring, “We need a powerful army of the countries that do not accept genocide … we must liberate Palestine.”

Petro’s appeal echoed Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who pledged 20,000 soldiers for such a force.

Chilean President Gabriel Boric, also addressing the UN, called for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to face trial for genocide in Gaza, likening the atrocities to Rwanda and the Balkans.

❗️Spain joins Italy in sending naval support for Gaza flotilla

Spain will dispatch a naval vessel Thursday to support the Global Sumud Flotilla after reports of drone attacks on the aid convoy, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced in New York. “A maritime action vessel equipped with all the necessary resources will set sail from Cartagena tomorrow in case it is necessary to assist the flotilla and carry out any rescues,” he said.

The move follows Italy’s decision to send the frigate Fasan to assist its citizens and provide relief. Madrid and Rome have coordinated the deployment, and Spain’s Defense Ministry confirmed talks with Italy on expanding cooperation, possibly involving Ireland. Officials stressed the mission is humanitarian and limited to international waters, not aimed at confronting Israel.

The flotilla of about 50 ships set sail to break Israel’s blockade and deliver medical aid to Gaza. Organizers said 12 blasts hit nine ships in international waters, blaming repeated drone attacks. Israel, which has threatened to block the flotilla, has not commented.

❗️Italy to send second warship to escort Gaza aid flotilla

Italy will deploy a second naval vessel to protect the Global Sumud Flotilla as it sails toward Gaza, Defense Minister Guido Crosetto told lawmakers on Thursday.

He said the government’s goal is to prevent incidents at sea, condemning recent attacks on civilian vessels as “totally unacceptable.” Crosetto confirmed the frigate Alpino will join the Fasan to provide additional support.

The flotilla of around 50 ships set out to deliver aid to the besieged Gaza Strip, where 2.4 million Palestinians have lived under blockade for 18 years. Organizers reported 12 blasts from drone strikes damaging nine vessels in international waters. Israel, which has threatened to stop the mission, has not commented.

Spain also announced plans to send a naval vessel to support the mission.

❗️Israeli officials propose sanctions on Palestinian Authority in response to state recognition

According to Israel's Army Radio, senior officials in Israel’s security establishment have recommended imposing sanctions on Palestinian Authority leaders in response to multiple western countries recognizing the State of Palestine.

The proposed sanctions reportedly target President Mahmoud Abbas, Deputy President Hussein al-Sheikh, and several other figures.

Among the measures suggested are restrictions on the movement of these officials within the West Bank.

Israeli security officials also proposed economic sanctions, including restrictions on goods imported from abroad by the officials’ family members.

❗️Syria and Israel near ‘de-escalation’ deal, Barrack says

Syria and Israel are nearing a "de-escalation" deal under which Israel would halt its strikes and Syria would refrain from moving machinery or heavy equipment near the border, US Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack said.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Barrack noted that the arrangement would mark an initial step toward a broader 'security agreement' the two sides have been negotiating.

President Donald Trump has been pushing for an accord to be finalized this week, but Barrack noted that progress has been limited and that the Rosh Hashana holiday has slowed talks.

"I think everybody is approaching it in good faith," Barrack said.

➡️It is part of the IDF's 89th ‘Oz’ Commando Brigade, infamous for sending operatives undercover disguised as Palestinians on covert missions.

♦️Unit 8200

Israel’s premier signals intelligence (SIGINT) and cyber warfare unit boasts massive dossiers on Palestinians and uses personal information for blackmail, whistle-blowers say.

It built AI systems like ‘Lavender’ that churn out automated ‘kill lists’ of suspected militants with shocking tolerance for civilian casualties, according to a +972 Magazine report.

Its agents developed spyware like Pegasus, which targeted more than 50,000 prominent figures worldwide.

❗️At the Middle East Institute forum in New York, organized by self-styled Syria expert Charles Lister, Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa said:

– "If we cannot reach a security agreement with Israel that preserves Syria’s sovereignty, the Middle East will face a new wave of turmoil."

– "We are not the ones causing problems for Israel; we are afraid of Israel, not the other way around."

– "Israel’s delaying of negotiations and insistence on violating our airspace and attacking our territory carries multiple risks."

❗️Spain imposes total arms embargo on Israel over Gaza genocide

Spain has approved a sweeping decree imposing a total arms embargo on Israel, in what Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez described as a step to halt “the genocide in Gaza.” The measure bans all exports and imports of defense materials, dual-use technologies, and aircraft fuel with military applications. It also prohibits imports and advertising of goods from Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territories.

Economy Minister Carlos Cuerpo called it a “pioneering step at the international level” and said it codifies restrictions already applied since the start of Israel’s offensive on Gaza.

The decree, which comes into force immediately, is part of a package of nine measures Sanchez unveiled earlier this month. While hailed as a bold move, it still requires parliamentary approval, where Sanchez’s left-wing coalition lacks a majority. The Spanish government framed the embargo as both a legal and moral obligation to confront Israeli war crimes, marking one of the most far-reaching actions taken by a Western country against Tel Aviv during its Gaza campaign.

❗️Key takeaways from Qatari emir’s UNGA speech:

Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani told the UN General Assembly that Israel’s war on Gaza amounts to ethnic cleansing and undermines ceasefire efforts.

He condemned Israel’s strike in Doha, vowed to continue mediation with Egypt and the US, and accused Tel Aviv of destroying Gaza to force displacement while pursuing annexation in the West Bank and altering Al-Aqsa’s status quo. He reiterated support for a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders and highlighted Qatar’s wider role as a mediator in regional and global crises.

❗️US and Lebanese navies stage joint patrol in Mediterranean

US Central Command said a joint patrol was carried out in the Mediterranean involving the destroyer USS Mitscher and two Lebanese Navy vessels.

The statement described the drills as part of efforts to enhance “interoperability” through training and operational support.

The patrol follows Washington’s approval of a $14.2m security package for Lebanon aimed at building the army’s capacity to dismantle weapons caches of armed groups, including Hezbollah.

The Pentagon said the goal is to “empower” the Lebanese Armed Forces to degrade groups backed by Iran.

Reports also indicate the US has threatened to withdraw aid unless Beirut accelerates its disarmament push.

⭕️ Bloomberg: China’s crude imports from Indonesia may mask Iranian flows

Bloomberg reported that China’s August crude imports from Indonesia surged to 2.7m tons - levels far above Indonesia’s own production - in what it suggested could signal rebranded Iranian oil shipments.

The outlet cited customs data, vessel-tracking records, and analysts pointing to tankers signaling Indonesia’s Kabil port before discharging in China, despite the port lacking crude-export facilities.

Bloomberg stressed that the pattern is unusual and “suggests” Iranian cargoes are being delivered under new arrangements, though it did not confirm this as fact.

The report also quoted a US-based advocacy group claiming the trade continues through ship-to-ship transfers despite US sanctions.
