Anbessa Bank has redesigned its logo.
I found it to be a successful rebrand, and it’s way better than the old logo (it’s hard to even call that a logo, tho 😉).
I like the concept, color, and typography (with very few reservations). I also like the removal of the word “International,” the removal of the English "Lion", and its replacement with the word “anbesa.”
That said, as a professional, I noticed some technical issues that could have been improved:
1. The ጭረት (scratch) is centered mathematically, not visually—both vertically and horizontally.
A good example of handling this correctly is YouTube’s logo: the play button isn’t mathematically centered, but it feels centered visually.
2. I didn’t like where the Amharic name ends. It would have been better if it aligned with where the English name Anbessa ends.

The Talix Landing Page Contest
We’re building Talix, an AI-powered learning platform. We’re looking for a landing page design that is clean enough to put out there
Prizes:
- Winner: 10,000 ETB Cash Prize + 3 months of Talix pro + Featured Credit and Opportunities
- 2nd Place: A custom Domain Name for you.
It's only a landing page, so we expect you to include sections/elements of a modern landing page (Hero Section, CTA, etc.) The design should match our existing App design feels. Hit me up at @sozofe, i will give you the file containing all the things you need and the hosted app playground
Deliverable: Figma is strongly preferred. It would be awesome if you do it in public so that it will be easier to track and see your progress (use #DesignTalix if you decide so), but it's totally optional as long as you deliver on time.
Deadline: 1 week. So you can work on it on weekends too

I was in this contest, but I didn’t deliver my work because I didn’t finish it. I always end up rushing and getting my shit done on the deadline day.
I was thinking about starting with the logo first, since the brief said they would love to get a new logo. I learned a lot while doing this the landing page ( i did few pages)
Don’t be like me, by the way — I’ll definitely improve.
The logo I made is kinda lazy work, but it was thoughtful. Everything was done in Figma (I don’t have any other design software right now).
If the Talix team actually loves it, I’ll deliver it for free.
