"Most people are relatively indifferent to politics and see it as a small part of their lives, yet a small percentage of the population takes it very seriously and makes it part of its identity. Those people will tend to punch above their weight in influence, and institutions will be more responsive to them.
...In an evenly divided country, if one side simply cares more, it’s going to exert a disproportionate influence on all institutions, and be more likely to see its preferences enacted in the time between elections when most people aren’t paying much attention."
The Left just CARES MORE about politics, and puts in more effort outside of elections. So here is the crossroads:
"[Conservatives will] have to reconcile themselves to continue to lose the culture into the foreseeable future, at least until they are able to inspire a critical mass to do more than just vote its preferences."

Here's case fatality rate (CFR) for NH as of yesterday. This is just the fatality percentages among KNOWN CASES. Infection fatality rate (IFR) is unknown because it would include all undiagnosed cases (which is unknown). But you can be sure it is MUCH lower than these CFR numbers. So we are basically confirming what we already know: COVID kills old people in nursing homes. Everyone else should get back to life as usual. NO MORE FEAR.

Public Hearing Thursday on Court Nominee
Can We Keep Dan Will from the Superior Court Bench?
The hearing for Gov. Chris Sununu's problematic N.H. Superior Court nominee Dan Will is coming up this Thursday, and we need to remind the Executive Council not to support this nominee before they meet.
Here is the history: N.H. Solicitor General Daniel Will wrote the Binford Objection, which led to the N.H. Superior Court decision stating that the governor has the authority to "suspend the constitution" during a State of Emergency. Dan Will has been nominated to sit on this same court, making the court an even bigger constitutional threat.
Clearly, we must prevent Dan Will from taking residence on the N.H. Superior Court bench for 20 years. Please call and email all five of the executive councilors and tell them we need our judges defending the constitution, not undermining it. Ask them to say "no" to Dan Will's nomination and urge the governor to find nominees that respect our rights.

Update: Bill to Ban Vaccine Passport
The House Executive Departments and Administration Committee is still working on an amendment to SB 155 that would ban a vaccine passport, and its prospects are looking promising. Behind the scenes, our people are working on language that would strengthen religious and medical exemptions for employees to decline a vaccination they don't want.
It's important to note that your efforts helped Senators amend SB 155 into language that we can support. So thank you for that! We wanted to let you know that we support the underlying legislation as a result. Also, most of our people on the House committee and in the House are supporting this effort, but there are a few holdouts who think that government shouldn't get involved with preventing this gross violation of individual liberty. Here's some thoughts to share with them that may change their mind.
Would you please email the N.H. House Executive Departments and Administration committee and ask them to support adding an amendment to SB 155 that bans vaccine passports. Also, please email committee member John Sytek, a holdout representative from Salem, or call him at 603-893-8889, and explain to him how important this amendment is to protecting our way of life.

Public Hearings on Wednesday
State of Emergency Statute Reform Bills Need Attention
Two major state of emergency reform bills have public hearings on Wednesday, May 5, and both could use your attention to move them forward.
• Hearing on HB 187, 9:15 a.m., Wednesday, May 5, N.H. Senate Committee on Health and Human Services
◦ Join the Meeting on Zoom.
◦ Register your position or sign in to speak.
◦ Please email written testimony and documents you wish to share with the Committee to kirsten.koch@leg.state.nh.us. Let the committee know you support the bill, but not the Senate amendment.
◦ RebuildNH SUPPORTS the bill, but DOES NOT support the Senate amendment.
◦ The underlying bill, HB 187, would add checks on the commissioner of the Department of Health and Human Services to prevent him from unilaterally implementing emergency regulations without legislative oversight or approval. The Senate amendment would add licensing requirements for social workers. Please ask the Senate to support the bill, but not the amendment.
• Hearing on HB 417, 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 5., N.H. Senate Committee on Executive Departments and Administration
◦ Join the Meeting on Zoom
◦ Register your position or sign in to speak.
◦ Please email written testimony and documents you wish to share with the Committee to cameron.lapine@leg.state.nh.us.
◦ RebuildNH Supports with Explanation (see below)
◦ HB 417 is the bipartisan bill that passed the House with a veto-proof majority to amend the State of Emergency statutes and prohibit the governor from spending federal funds on his own. We support the bill in part. Ideally, the language in the budget (HB 2) from sections 76 and 77 as well as the language in HB 417 in section 3, subparagraph V, and section 4 should be passed into law. It may also make sense to add section 3, subparagraph V, and section 4 of HB 417 into the budget to go along with sections 76 and 77, as well as section 332, which includes language from HB 63. We would still like you to email the full Senate and ask them to support the three emergency reforms in the budget, even if you've done so already.

The CDC’s cruel, irrational guidance traps our kids in the forever pandemic
https://nypost.com/2021/05/02/the-cdcs-cruel-irrational-guidance-traps-our-kids-in-the-pandemic/
"How low is the risk to kids? According to the CDC, 266 kids ages 0 to 17 have died of COVID-19. Every single death is a tragedy. But during the 2018-2019 flu season, 477 kids in that age range died of the regular flu, and we didn’t take to hiding our kids under their beds.
Also in 2019, we lost 2,545 kids under 18 to traffic accidents, 776 to drowning and a devastating 2,156 to suicide. We didn’t stop sending kids to school. We didn’t ban cars or swimming pools. We understood that we live in a world of risk, that we send our children out daily and pray that they make it home.
We need perspective — and fast. We need to stop listening to an organization that has discredited itself."

Activists aligned with ReopenNH have been scouring existing statute to address the issue of forced masking children in schools. Yesterday, they uncovered Title X, Section 126-U:4:
"No school or facility shall use or threaten to use any of the following restraint and behavior control techniques:
I. Any physical restraint or containment technique that:
(a) Obstructs a child's respiratory airway or impairs the child's breathing or respiratory capacity or restricts the movement required for normal breathing;
...(d) Involves pushing on or into the child's mouth, nose, eyes, or any part of the face or involves covering the face or body with anything, including soft objects such as pillows, blankets, or washcloths; or
...IV. Any technique that unnecessarily subjects the child to ridicule, humiliation, or emotional trauma."
http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/rsa/html/x/126-u/126-u-mrg.htm
Today this was presented to Commissioner Frank Edelblut, who we are told will be calling the Attorney General, asking the AG to send out notice to schools.
Please email the statute to your local school board members. The abusive mask mandates are AGAINST THE LAW.

Update on Daniel Will hearing:
Establishment politicians, CEOs, and others came out to testify in favor of Daniel Will for Superior Court judge. It was the who's who of well-connected elites – 14 testifying in his favor that he's a nice fella. Three testified for the People, including both ReopenNH Chairman Andrew Manuse and ReopenNH Treasurer JR Hoell, bringing up concerns for civil and religious liberties.
The vote on Will's nomination will likely be in 2 weeks. We will keep you updated. We will likely need a strong showing emailing the Executive Councilors in that time period.

Here are talking points to help you compose your message:
1. Human rights ought to be protected in all parts of society, public and private, from all bad actors, and the right to bodily autonomy is a recognized human right.
2. According to the Declaration of Independence, governments are instituted to secure the rights of the minority to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Sometimes, the government must step in to prevent powerful private actors from infringing the rights of the minority that don't have the resources to defend their rights.
3. As a society, we have long determined that private businesses don't have a right to discriminate, and that includes discrimination against those who refuse a particular medical intervention.
4. A vaccine passport is not the same as a "no shirt, no shoes, no service" policy, because wearing shoes does not pose a medical risk. Vaccines do pose a medical risk and courts have long upheld that we cannot force medical risk on anyone, even criminals.
5. We cannot create a tiered society where those who cannot or will not receive a vaccine are barred from participating. We've been down that road before with other modes of discrimination, and we do not want such a regressive idea to take hold. This is a battle we cannot afford to lose.
6. Vaccine passports are a dangerous invasion of personal and medical privacy. This bill is essentially strengthening HIPAA law.
7. The proposed vaccine passport prohibition does not apply to all private businesses. It only applies to private businesses contracted with the state and state and local government. However, the amendment language presents a firm statement that discrimination will not be tolerated in New Hampshire.
