Sketches of the interiors of Soyuz spacecraft, 60-70s. Architect Galina Balashova was the first to develop a comfortable living compartment, using warm earthy shades, and to facilitate orientation in zero gravity, a light top and dark floor. Balashova disguised boxes with equipment as a sofa and a “sideboard” with a bookshelf, and came up with a system for attaching objects to fabric surfaces with Velcro. After the Soyuz-Apollo mission, American cosmonauts compared the Soviet spacecraft to a room in a good hotel.
Liverpool council tax is set to increase once again by the maximum allowed of 4.9%.

Liverpool Council implemented a 4.99% hike this year and residents face another large increase in 2024.
