One of the main objectives of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation launched by Palestinian resistance forces on 7 October was the taking of hostages, with the aim of exchanging them for the tens of thousands of uncharged and viciously maltreated Palestinians who are currently held in the dungeons of the zionist regime.
This aim is a vital one for the resistance, and historically only hostage exchanges have ever succeeded in securing the release of Palestinian captives.

‘Hannibal directive’: western media covers up Israel’s mass murder of Israelis
Why is it now believed that more than half of those killed on 7 October were gunned down by their own side?

USSR Support For The Arab People Of Palestine 1982.pdf
4 MB
A reminder of what the world lost with the fall of the USSR is contained in this little Soviet pamphlet from 1983, expressing full and militant support for the Palestinian struggle, including its armed struggle, explaining what measures the Soviet Union was taking to support that struggle (including the supply of arms) and denouncing US imperialism's support for genocidal zionism.
Interesting to note from the letters quoted how well informed Soviet citizens were about what was really happening in the middle east. Compare with the general ignorance prevailing amongst western workers, then and now, to see what a difference a decent education and an internationalist and anti-capitalist media make to the outlook of the people.
And this was at a time when the Soviet Union was in a state of fairly advanced decay as compared with the ideological and educational high point of the Stalin era.

Think about what this graphic represents. Think in particular about the tiny geographical space into which all these tons of bombs have been concentrated.
And then think about how our media’s non-outrage and normalisation of this horrific crime feeds the sense of resignation amongst the wider western public.
Not only Netanyahu, Biden, Sunak and Starmer should be in the dock. But also all the editors of the corporate media papers and TV channels that promote zionist narratives, criminalise resistance and leave the wider population either in complete ignorance or feeling that this activity is somehow normal, acceptable and/or unalterable.

Archives on the decision of European countries to wage war against the USSR have been declassified.
At the beginning of 1940, England and France made a fundamental decision to start a war against the USSR – to strike from Finland and from the Caucasus, and also to create a “national Russian government.”
This data was obtained by Soviet intelligence, and now it has been published by the Presidential Library.
— wrote People's Commissar of Internal Affairs of the USSR Lavrenty Beria.
According to the head of the NKVD, this decision of the military council led to the resignation of the British Secretary of State for War, Leslie Hore-Belish, “who at this stage was categorically against war with the USSR.”
— Beria noted.
To justify the attack on the Soviet Union, the British and French prepared an action with fakes and wrote a whole collection of fictitious stories. In the end, it was never published due to Germany's military successes in Western Europe in 1940.

At the last meeting of the Supreme Military Council, a fundamental decision was made to begin military action against the USSR. On the basis of this decision, a sharp anti-Soviet campaign was launched in all newspapers to prepare public opinion,

The main objective is to capture Leningrad, which, according to the allies, should deal a strong blow to the USSR,

Keir Starmer is over in Berlin today to start the process of undoing Brexit. The Brexit vote in 2016 was a great revolt, largely of the working class, against the wishes of the most powerful sections of the ruling class. That's why the rich hate it and have been working non-stop to undo it ever since.

“Formerly, the victory of the revolution in one country was considered impossible, on the assumption that it would require the combined action of the proletarians of all or at least of a majority of the advanced countries to achieve victory over the bourgeoisie. Now this point of view no longer fits in with the facts. Now we must proceed from the possibility of such a victory, for the uneven and spasmodic character of the development of the various capitalist countries under the conditions of imperialism, the development within imperialism of catastrophic contradictions leading to inevitable wars, the growth of the revolutionary movement in all countries of the world-all this leads, not only to the possibility, but also to the necessity of the victory of the proletariat in individual countries.”

This article by Josef Stalin was written in response to denunciations of the Soviet Union by Labour foreign minister Herbert Morrison.
It contains a wonderfully pithy summary of the difference between socialist and imperialists definitions of the concept of ‘freedom’, as well as being an excellent rebuttal of the 1945ism (nostalgia for the supposedly ‘good old days’ of a ‘socialist’ Labour government after WW2) that still plagues the vast majority of the self-identifying ‘left’ – an illusion that they pass on continually to the British working class.

To the Marxist it is indisputable that a revolution is impossible without a revolutionary situation; furthermore, it is not every revolutionary situation that leads to revolution. What, generally speaking, are the symptoms of a revolutionary situation? We shall certainly not be mistaken if we indicate the following three major symptoms: (1) when it is impossible for the ruling classes to maintain their rule without any change; when there is a crisis, in one form or another, among the “upper classes”, a crisis in the policy of the ruling class, leading to a fissure through which the discontent and indignation of the oppressed classes burst forth. For a revolution to take place, it is usually insufficient for “the lower classes not to want” to live in the old way; it is also necessary that “the upper classes should be unable” to live in the old way; (2) when the suffering and want of the oppressed classes have grown more acute than usual; (3) when, as a consequence of the above causes, there is a considerable increase in the activity of the masses, who uncomplainingly allow themselves to be robbed in “peace time”, but, in turbulent times, are drawn both by all the circumstances of the crisis and by the “upper classes” themselves into independent historical action.
