Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, has adopted a new policy aimed at improving the lives of older people.
The program is said to be the first of its kind in the country. It covers a range of areas, including elderly care, health insurance, transportation, and labor law. The policy will go into effect on January 1, 2025.
Workers will now be ennoscriptd to five days of paid annual leave to care for elderly parents hospitalised with illness.
