From its inception, zionism has been a geopolitical construct. Today it presents the ‘Nazi holocaust’ against the jews in Europe as the historical explanation and the moral justification for the ‘zionist holocaust’ against the Palestinians.
If zionism were a genuine national-liberation movement, as is claimed by the zionists and their imperialist backers, it is pertinent to ask: why did it not seek to liberate the Jewish Pale of Settlement (home to most jews) in Russia?
Likewise the question arises as to why, when contemporary zionism claims to be exclusively jewish, are its origins traceable to non-jewish debates and writings of late nineteenth century England?
What claim can zionism make to Palestine that the Palestinians can’t make with much greater force? In the name of what can zionism justify the expulsion, dispossession, dispersal and oppression of millions of Palestinians on the basis of ancient, medieval and modern atrocities inflicted in Europe by some Europeans against their jewish populations?
What are the prospects of zionism in view of Israel’s rejection of the UN-backed Right of Return for the Palestinians while simultaneously justifying its own existence on the arbitrary law of ‘return’?
As things stand, the zionist state of Israel, through its occupation of territories it captured in the 1967 war, its continued colonisation and settlement building, has to all intents and purposes scuppered the two-state solution. That being the case, it will either have to impose its rule over the Palestinians through a system of brutal apartheid or grant them rights as equal citizens in a binational state.
Either way, it puts paid to the zionist dream of an exclusively jewish – not to say theocratic and racist – state. Of these two options, the zionists are likely to choose the former.
History provides sufficient proof that such a state of affairs cannot be maintained indefinitely. It must break down in the face of Palestinian resistance and the fatigue of neverending war between the oppressors and the oppressed.

On January 8, 1957, the Central Committee of the CPSU adopted a resolution “On the publication of the Complete Works of V. I. Lenin”
In a relatively short period of time (8 years), 55 volumes were published with a total circulation of 700 thousand copies.
The archives contain 30,820 original Lenin documents. In 1999, the Russian State Archive of Social and Political History (RGASPI) published a number of Lenin documents that had not been published in Soviet times.

Some people think that socialism can be strengthened by some material harm to people on the basis of a poor life. This is wrong. This is a petty-bourgeois idea of socialism. In fact, socialism can only win on the basis of high labor productivity, higher than under capitalism, on the basis of an abundance of products and all kinds of consumer goods, on the basis of a prosperous and cultured life for all members of society.

Lenin at the Southern Pole of Inaccessibility!
In an amazing story from 2020 that got far less attention than it deserved -- likely due to the start of the pandemic -- a Chinese explorer and adventurer, Feng Jing, hiked to the Southern Pole of Inaccessibility (POI), which is the farthest point from all the coastlines of Antarctica. Very few people have ever visited this inhospitable spot. She had previously skied to the South Pole.
With two assistants she reached the POI after 80 days on January 25, 2020. It is a remarkable achievement traversing over 1,800 kilometers in extreme conditions. No one had ever reached the spot on foot before.
As Russia Beyond noted in an article about the POI, "the average year-round temperature is an astounding -58.2°C (-72.8°F)" at the site.
One fascinating aspect to the trip is that there is a Lenin statue at the POI!
In 1958 the Soviet Union sent an expedition of scientists there with the goal of establishing a base camp. On top of the camp structures they placed the Lenin bust.
The camp was essentially abandoned and only a handful of people have travelled there. The camp buildings were buried by snow over the last 60 years, but incredibly Lenin is still visible and there unharmed having survived despite it all.
Any number of metaphors could be drawn about this, but regardless it makes for a great story.

Why Socialism?

The economic anarchy of capitalist society as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of the evil. We see before us a huge community of producers the members of which are unceasingly striving to deprive each other of the fruits of their collective labor—not by force, but on the whole in faithful compliance with legally established rules. In this respect, it is important to realize that the means of production—that is to say, the entire productive capacity that is needed for producing consumer goods as well as additional capital goods—may legally be, and for the most part are, the private property of individuals.

Excellent overview by our Comrade Alex of the real motivations for shuttering various regime-change and 'soft power' outfits in Washington.
These events cannot be judged on the basis of human logic and rationality. Nor can they be seen as a fundamental move away from the aim of regime change itself.
None of it will make any sense if we fail to take into account the global crisis of overproduction and the desperate need of the imperialist financiers to expand their avenues of profit-taking and restore profitability. Which can only be done at the expense of rivals and the expense of one another – and ultimately at the expense of the working people, both at home and abroad.
What the moves really signify is a change in tactic that has been forced by conditions of economic crisis and military DEFEAT. And by the fact that the regime-change machinery as it currently exists has essentially become a busted flush. Too well exposed by anti-imperialist investigators and governments to be any use in the places where it is most needed – ie, Russia and China.
The Trump White House is not carrying out 'a revolution' and it is certainly not 'antiwar'. It is certainly trying to hide some serious defeats for US imperialism (Ukraine, Gaza) behind a lot of grandstanding and bluster, which is aimed as much at the home population as at the apparent targets.
Fundamentally, the imperialists, while by no means in agreement over the best way forward, are casting about to find other ways (covert and overt) to achieve their continuing goal of looting the world.
