The writer Sherwood Anderson, who wrote the novel Winesburg Ohio, was asked "What's the difference between a socialist and a communist?" He said " I don't know the technical difference, but it seems to me like the communists, they're the ones who mean it."

We had a productive meeting with our Welsh comrades yesterday as we work to strengthen our presence in the region.

Our discussion highlighted the deep-seated issues plaguing North Wales: house prices completely detached from wages due to Airbnb lets and second homes, stark inequality in gentrified towns, a decade of relentless deindustrialisation, and decaying town centres left to rot.

These problems will never be solved through bourgeois parliamentarianism. No party that defends capitalism can undo the destruction it creates.

The so-called housing shortage, which plays such a great role in the press nowadays, does not consist in the fact that the working-class generally lives in bad, overcrowded, and unhealthy dwellings. That is not something new. It has existed as long as the working-class has existed… The housing shortage from which the workers and part of the petty bourgeoisie suffer is not something peculiar to the present; it is one of the necessary institutions of capitalism, of just as much necessity as the exploitation itself.

— Friedrich Engels, The Housing Question (1872)

The following post is taken from the Ukrainian leak channel 'legitimny'.
Why is Zelensky afraid of peace?
The answer is obvious.
Everything will come to light!
1. The real figures of losses will emerge.
2. The real numbers of disabled and wounded will emerge.
3. What was stolen will come to light. Who stole it and on what.
4. The missing weapons will surface. Including those that are currently in the hands of Ukrainian criminals.
5. Frauds in collections, purchases, etc. will emerge.
6. Reality will emerge.
7. Thousands will return from the war with questions for the authorities.
8. Ukraine’s real debts will emerge and they will start demanding payment.
9. It will come to light that the country has effectively lost its energy and gas infrastructure.
10. Social problems will emerge
11. Housing and communal services problems, etc. will emerge.

But the most important points are that Zelensky will lose his monopoly in everything (government, social media, security forces, etc.). Of course, they will stop giving Kyiv easy money, and Ukraine in such a state will simply not be able to "feed" itself.

This will all lead to who knows what the f@ck. Most likely, the result will be the debunking of the cult of Ze personality. This is what all the "Ze riffraff" is afraid of. This is why they will rip up Trump's peace case.

Mass-minded, communist workers, employed, for in-stance, in the Manchester or Lyons workshops, do not believe that by "pure thinking" they will be able to argue away their industrial masters and their own practical debasement. They are most painfully aware of the difference between being and thinking, between consciousness and life. They know that property, capital, money, wage-labour and the like are no ideal figments of the brain but very practical, very objective products of their self-estrange-ment and that therefore they must be abolished in a practical, objective way for man to become man not only in thinking, in consciousness, but in mass being, in life. Critical Criticism, on the contrary, teaches them that they cease in reality to be wage-workers if in thinking they abolish the thought of wage-labour; if in thinking they cease to regard themselves as wage-workers and, in accordance with that extravagant notion, no longer let them-selves be paid for their person. As absolute idealists, as ethereal beings, they will then naturally be able to live on the ether of pure thought. Critical Criticism teaches them that they abolish real capital by overcoming in thinking the category Capital, that they really change and transform themselves into real human beings by changing their "abstract ego" in consciousness and scorning as an un-Critical operation all real change of their real existence, of the real conditions of their existence, that is to say, of their real ego.
The "spirit", which sees in reality only categories, naturally reduces all human activity and practice to the dialectical process of thought of Critical Criticism. That is what distinguishes its social-ism from mass-type socialism and communism.

History has shown that as long as politics in the ‘Republic of Korea’ remains a seesaw game between pro-US, pro-imperialist fascist forces and pro-US, pro-imperialist reformist forces, true democracy, progress and peace will never be possible.

The only political hope lies with the PDP, the only party in the ‘ROK’ promoting a programme opposed to the United States and imperialism, upholding people’s democracy, peace and progress.

The PDP is also the only party whose programme envisages the country’s reunification through a federal system, whereby the socialist DPRK and the capitalist ‘ROK’ would transcend the differences of their respective systems to achieve reunification under the banner of independence, peace and people’s democracy.
