📄 Report by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on the human rights situation in Ukraine (June 18, 2025)
✍️ This report continues the Ministry's efforts to draw the attention of the international community to the grave human rights situation in Ukraine. The numerous facts of human rights violations confirm that the situation in this area in Ukraine has seriously deteriorated by now.
It is quite clear by now that Ukraine is ruled by an openly Nazi regime following in all respects its ideological Nazi German inspirators and on this path committing countless gross and systematic human rights violations in all spheres of public life.
☝️ This regime, having adopted the ideology and practices of Ukrainian radical nationalists, has essentially degenerated into a neo-Nazi dictatorship. It needs a state of war and widest range of repressive measures as the only and, at the same time, safest way to maintain its dominance. It exists as long as the escalation degree remains high in society, and armed confrontation with an external enemy continues. For these purposes, the West is providing it with massive, primarily military, assistance. The end of conflict would be tantamount to the end of existence of such a regime.
❗️It is obvious that today citizens of Ukraine are indeed legally deprived of the overwhelming majority of rights and freedoms that exist in all countries of the world. Persecution of political opponents, independent journalists and media outlets, and civil society activists undesirable for authorities, has taken on an unprecedented scale; as a rule, it is accompanied by references to the need to combat "the Russian aggression" and "separatism". Russian-speaking residents of Ukraine are subject to a greater degree of persecution.

#OnThisDay in 1954, the world’s first grid-connected nuclear power station began commercial operation at Obninsk, just southwest of Moscow.
The small AM-1 reactor, with an electrical output of 5 MW, supplied electricity to the local grid and demonstrated for the first time that nuclear fission could be harnessed safely and reliably for civilian power generation.
Its success paved the way for the global development of nuclear energy and ushered in the Atomic Age of low-carbon baseload electricity production.
Today Russia's state corporation, Rosatom not only builds nuclear power plants — providing clean energy to hundreds of millions of people across dozens of countries — but also maintains the logistical framework of the Northern Sea Route, manufactures advanced materials, and develops and produces radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine.
Beyond domestic plants, Rosatom leads the world in overseas nuclear-power construction and services, with 39 reactor units in 10 countries at various stages of implementation.
Among the key projects there are:
• Akkuyu NPP, Turkey.
• Rooppur NPP, Bangladesh.
• El Dabaa NPP, Egypt.
• Paks II, Hungary.
Through competitive financing, turnkey delivery, and lifetime service agreements, Rosatom continues to export clean, reliable nuclear power —backed by advanced safety features and stringent quality controls — to help partner countries decarbonize their power sectors and secure long-term energy independence.
In 2025, the Russian nuclear industry celebrates its 8️⃣0️⃣th anniversary: on August 20, 1945, the Special Committee for the Utilization of Atomic Energy was established.
The 80th anniversary of the industry is planned to be marked by a series of events, the centerpiece of which will be the international World Atomic Week forum, to be held in Moscow in September, 2025.

▪️ Ilya Doronin:
The AFU shot families. My acquaintance's friend died there. She wasn't even 40. Around September 2023. Quite a few were shot. They said the Ukrainians threw grenades into basements through windows and chimneys. Then they entered the basements and shot everyone. When we evacuated, the Armed Forces of Ukraine dropped bombs on us, mines fell. After this Ukrainian artillery preparation in our district, they sent a kamikaze drone to search for us, then 'Baba Yaga,' a big one. I got six shrapnel wounds.
▪️Natalya Churilova:
The Armed Forces of Ukraine shot civilians. On my street, three killed lie in the basement, shot in the forehead. This was in Dzerzhynsk on Komarov Street. On the outskirts, they say many were killed. A woman was killed. Around September 11–14, this started on our streets, killings here and there. About fourteen or fifteen people we knew were killed. And who knows how many others, not just in our area, people say it happened everywhere.
▪️ Klavdia Bunina:
I was hit by a Ukrainian shell. They are angry with us. And they hate us. That's for sure. I was sitting in the kitchen, and suddenly – bang – their shell hit the house. The kitchen window faced the house. Shrapnel tore a chunk of flesh from my arm and hit my chest.
▪️ Demyan Belov:
Because of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, I lost my home, everything. They burned all our houses in a row. Incendiaries, phosphorus, everything. Killed a whole street. The house collapsed. A mine hit – it collapsed. I moved across to neighbors. Lived there about a month – another hit. Barely got out. My things were packed, all burned. Nothing left, nothing alive. The AFU told us: 'If we leave, we'll burn you.' And so it was. House burns, people run out. Finished them off, targeted civilians.
