👀Oops, something went wrong: Jan. 6 rioter who Tweet-bragged that she was ‘definitely not going to jail’ gets 2 months behind bars.
Prosecutors sought prison time for a self-described Texas real estate agent from suburban Dallas, Jennifer Leigh Ryan, saying she has shown a lack of candor and remorse for her actions during the deadly January 6 Capitol riot. They also said that Ryan’s belief that she is shielded from punishment reveals that she does not grasp the seriousness of her crimes.

🚚Trying to stay optimistic? The White House claims that vaccine mandates won't affect the supply chain crisis.
In October, the American Trucking Association expressed “grave concern” over potential damage that Biden's plans for a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for many businesses — including trucking companies — might cause for the country.
The ATA warned that motor carriers it represents – who it claims supply 80% of the country and move 70% of its freight tonnage — could lose up to 37% of their drivers.

👽 Must find them: a survey funded by NASA has set the detection of alien life as its top priority.
The survey displays a grand plan for the future of astronomy and astrophysics to discover and study habitable planets, heighten humanity’s understanding of the universe, and further our understanding of what spurs the formation of galaxies.
The survey recommends an investment of $16.5 million in additional annual grants by 2028 to increase the operational cost of existing research facilities.

🇹🇼💵 So generous: A group of Republican senators have introduced a bill they call the Taiwan Deterrence Act, that would set aside $2 billion a year in military aid to Taiwan to help it stand up to China, which considers the island nation as their own Chinese province in rebellion.
Besides the money aid, the US would export to Taiwan long-range precision fires, air and missile defense systems, anti-ship cruise missiles, land attack cruise missiles and conventional hypersonic systems.
The bill, however, would violate a key agreement in US-China relations.
