🇹🇼💵 So generous: A group of Republican senators have introduced a bill they call the Taiwan Deterrence Act, that would set aside $2 billion a year in military aid to Taiwan to help it stand up to China, which considers the island nation as their own Chinese province in rebellion.
Besides the money aid, the US would export to Taiwan long-range precision fires, air and missile defense systems, anti-ship cruise missiles, land attack cruise missiles and conventional hypersonic systems.
The bill, however, would violate a key agreement in US-China relations.
