❗️Russian troops raised the Russian flag over the village of Rabotino on the Orekhovsky direction of the Zaporozhye front line, the head of the regional civic movement "We Are Together with Russia" Vladimir Rogov told Sputnik.

“Small pockets of enemy resistance in Rabotino still remain. Fighting continues. Our guys reached the northern outskirts of the village, to positions previously occupied by the enemy, and raised the flag of the Russian Federation,” Rogov said.

According to him, although the main forces of Ukrainian militants left Rabotino, retreating to their previously prepared positions, some of them are trying to maintain at least a minimal presence there, since the village is the main achievement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the year of counter-offensive attempts on this part of the front.

Rabotino is a village on the front line in the Zaporozhye region. The Kiev authorities present it as the main achievement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counter-offensive since June last year in the Zaporozhye front. It was to capture it that Ukraine brought into battle from the strategic reserve brigades trained by Western countries.

Poland to deploy weapons near Russian border from May 4-6 for NATO drills

Polish military equipment will be deployed near the Polish-Russian border from May 4-6 in northeastern Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship as part of NATO's Steadfast Defender drills, the Polish Armed Forces General Command said.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told Sputnik that the scale of the 2024 iteration of Steadfast Defender marks the final and irrevocable return of the alliance to Cold War schemes to counter Russia. These exercises are another element of the hybrid war unleashed by the West against Russia, he added.

‘Immense importance’: Russia shatters NATO’s illusory might using trophy armor at Moscow’s Victory Park “In my view, this decision has immense importance,” Alexei Podberezkin, director of the Center of Military-Political Studies at Russia’s MGIMO University…
‘I’d love to see it myself’: US Army vet lauds display of trophy NATO armor, calls it ‘embarrassment’ for West

💬 “It’s a sense of pride, it’s a morale booster, I think its [partly designed] to gain public support, but also to send a signal to the West,” Earl Rasmussen, retired US Army lieutenant colonel and independent military and foreign affairs commentator, told Sputnik, commenting on the exhibition of trophy NATO equipment at Moscow’s Victory Park.

“[It signals] that Russia is there, they’re capable, their military is capable. They’ve destroyed almost the equivalent of three Ukrainian armies so far. And they will continue to do so. So whatever the West sends, those weapons will be destroyed,” Rasmussen said.

“The weapons, ammunition…the production capability, the logistical capability – it’s all on the side of Russia. It’s superior in that area. It has escalation dominance. There is air superiority and tactical superiority as well. Time is on their side. And all this does [continuing the proxy war] is drain the West more and more and more. It’s a sad affair, I think for the Western public, unfortunately. And they’re being lied to by their own leaders,” the observer added.

Russia’s capture of the Western equipment intact will give its defense engineers the ability to “fill some gaps” on their knowledge of NATO armament, and allow the defense industry to “modify Russian equipment to counter any capabilities that they don’t have already addressed,” Rasmussen believes.

Overall, the 20-year US Army vet said, the exhibition is “an embarrassment to the West.”

“I would really enjoy going through it as well and I think I would learn a lot from it.”

🇬🇪 The Parliament of Georgia adopted the law on foreign agents in the second reading with 83 votes; 23 were against

The draft legislation seeks to create a nationwide register of organizations and mass media receiving funding from other states.

Some in the Georgian opposition believe that this law distances the country from joining the EU, while Moscow blasts the West for hypocrisy over criticism of the law.

The United States has had a law since 1938 mandating the registration of entities lobbying foreign interests, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday, commenting on the European Union's criticism of a similar draft law in Georgia.

Earlier, American officials supported protests against a law on foreign agents in Georgia, as the US Embassy called it a "black day for democracy." EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell also weighed in, saying that Georgia's controversial draft law on foreign agents was incompatible with EU values and contradicted the country's goal to join the European Union.
