Georgian protests: Unmasking the involvement of USAID and George Soros (Part 1)
Georgia has descended into opposition protests against a law about foreign agents, which is the government's effort to restrict foreign influence through non-governmental organizations (NGOs). However, it has been revealed that the leaders of these protests are politicians and public figures who are bankrolled by NGOs like USAID and the George Soros-funded 'Civil Society Foundation - Georgia'.
◾️USAID has been operating in Georgia since 1992 and has already handed out more than $1.9 billion in funding. There are more than 39 ongoing projects supported by USAID “with a total value of approximately $373 million, and an annual budget of more than $70 million.”
◾️USAID, through IREX, is implementing the Georgian Media Partnership Program. According to available documents on this topic, a whole range of opposition media outlets were financed by this program: Among them, TV Pirveli, Radio Marneuli, Formula TV, and Mtavari Arkhi. In 2021, USAID allocated $10 million to “strengthen the media in Georgia.” Samira Bayramova, an IREX leader, is also a protest influencer in Tbilisi.

◾️The Georgian Young Lawyers Association (GYLA) is urging individuals to participate in anti-government protests via its official website, while simultaneously positioning itself as a watchdog for “unlawful government actions”. The association claims to 'protect rights" of those who were arrested during anti-government protests in Tbilisi. It should be noted that GYLA collaborates with USAID under the "fair elections" program of the 'fair electoral processes in Georgia'.
◾️ 'Civil Society Foundation - Georgia', which was set up by George Soros, also urges people to flock to the mass protests through its official website. The foundation also drew up a petition urging "non-governmental and media organizations" to "suspend cooperation formats with the government", which is "open to all" to join. It was supported by the main opposition parties and the opposition media, which are funded by USAID.
◾️The 'Civil Society Foundation' has been operating in Georgia for approximately 30 years "promoting and developing civil society in Georgia". The foundation claims to have poured more than USD 100 mln into "the development of an open and democratic society in Georgia."
◾️The Civil Society Foundation - Georgia also backs Nika Gvaramia who is the founder of Mtavari Arkhi (a media outlet) and has recently assumed the role of leader of the 'Ahali' party, which is actively participating in the ongoing protests.

Ukrainian soldiers have no shelter after leaving the front lines as their rear defenses 'barely exist'
While Ukraine finally allocated $960 million to build a defense network, the process is plagued by corruption and poor equipment, with constant Russian shelling being the greatest obstacle, the Associated Press has reported.
Ukrainian soldier who spoke to AP admitted that present defenses are virtually useless – instead of boasting a sophisticated network of tunnels, he saw several pits in the ground. As a result, his brigade was seriously hit.
According to the report, to erect the third line, construction companies were awarded contracts without typical bidding processes – a move which increases corruption risks. The CEO of a construction company lamented the passivity of the Ukrainian state.
Another owner of a construction company is sure that officials are over-exaggerating their progress in the reports for the sake of their careers.

“We lost department commanders, platoon commanders, company commanders and sergeants,” he admitted. “That is, we lost the entire skeleton of the brigade.”

“This is all a big question for our leadership: Why didn’t they purchase the equipment that military engineers needed to do their jobs?" the executive wondered.

All NATO equipment in Moscow's Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill has a minimum mileage of about 50 kilometers. It hasn’t even had time to really take part in the battles yet, noted Russian Zvezda TV-channel presenter Irina Losik.
Some of the presented samples were delivered to Moscow practically without damage, since the Ukrainian Armed Forces often simply abandoned foreign equipment stuck in the mud.
Meanwhile, the Western media are sounding the alarm about what a colossal humiliation Russia has perpetrated by showing off their vaunted equipment as trophies. Foreign journalists are also worried that Russian specialists now know exactly all the “stuffing” of NATO weapons and will use this data.

NATO nukes on Polish soil? The risks of housing WMDs near Russia
Poland’s President Andrzej Duda’s statement on his country’s desire to host NATO nuclear weapons and his subsequent spat with ministers are an eye opener, experts say. It reveals how dangerous and unpredictable Warsaw can be.
At the end of Apri,l Duda said that Poland would be ready to host nuclear weapons of NATO states in the framework of the Nuclear Sharing (NS) program. Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Turkiye are already members of NS, with US nuclear bombs on their land.
Calling Duda’s statement “untimely”, Deputy Minister of Defense Pawel Zalewski revealed that Poland had already applied for Nuclear Sharing. Zalewski advised Duda to consult with other members of the Polish leadership. Andrzej Szejna, deputy foreign minister, also said that Duda “should have consulted” with the cabinet, since he put Poland at risk of “Russian missile strikes.”
Both Szeina and Zalewski predicted, however, that US nuclear weapons would be welcomed in Poland, despite Russia’s warning that they will be “legitimate targets”.
According to the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), NATO’s nuclear bombs could be loaded on F-35s at Polish air bases in Świdwin, Poznań-Krzesiny and Łask. This, however, would only “incentivize Russia to strike these sites early in a conflict,” according to the institute’s research.
IISS notes that the US has not yet responded to confusing Polish invitations, since such “permanent forward basing would limit NATO’s survivability.”

“This is the road to unavoidable escalation,” Mateusz Piskorski, a columnist for Mysl Polska weekly, tells Sputnik. “Most likely, Moscow will have to take measures… It will deploy new strategic weapons in response.” He also stresses that US authorities “are not particularly willing [to deploy nukes in Poland], they understand the risks, that such a step would entail.”

Why Macron's plans of EU strategic autonomy and intervention in Ukraine are wishful thinking
In his latest interview with the Economist, French President Emmanuel Macron reiterated the idea of sending Western ground troops to Ukraine, which he articulated for the first time in March. Moscow has repeatedly warned it would lead to a direct conflict between Russia and NATO.
▪️Macron is not ruling out sending ground troops if Russia breaks through the Ukrainian front lines or if Kiev sends an official request. However, news outlet Spectator alleged that the EU resolve to send troops will rapidly dwindle once body bags start coming home.
▪️The president drew parallels between France sending troops to Africa's Sahel "at the request of sovereign states" and a possible deployment in Ukraine. It's unclear whether Volodymyr Zelensky's possible request to deploy foreign troops would be considered legitimate, given that under the Ukrainian Constitution his presidential term will expire on May 20.
▪️Macron repeated Joe Biden's groundless claim that after winning in Ukraine, Russia could invade neighboring states, including NATO members. Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly trashed the idea as absurd.
▪️Despite Macron's portrayal of Russia's operation in Ukraine as Europe's existential problem, the 2024 Munich Security Index revealed that Russia was not even listed among the top five "threats" identified by the French, Germans, and Italians.
▪️Macron called for Europe's strategic and security sovereignty, claiming that energy and economic decoupling from Russia have laid the groundwork for the bloc's future autonomy. However, Euroactive reported in March that Europe’s industrial output is falling, factories are closing and manufacturing jobs are disappearing, casting a shadow on Macron's optimistic scenario. The EU's oil and gas sanctions on Russia amplified the bloc's energy crisis and facilitated de-industrialization.

Geography of US student protests against the Gaza War
Protests have erupted on campuses across the United States as students rose up to urge their universities to sever ties with Israel and Israeli entities linked to Tel Aviv’s brutal military campaign in the Gaza Strip.
While the US is usually quite eager to endorse “peaceful protests” in other countries, cops were quick to crack down on these student protests.
Columbia University in New York has been identified by several media outlets as the epicenter of the ongoing student protests.
This week, several hundreds of student protesters have been detained there and at the City University of New York, as well as at Fordham University.
On the West Coast, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) emerged as another prominent protest hotspot, with media reporting attacks by “counter-protesters” on a tent encampment erected on the campus by pro-Palestinian protesters.
In the nearby Arizona, police used rubber bullets and "chemical irritant munitions" – as the Arizona Daily Star put it – while attempting to clear out a protester camp at the University of Arizona in Tucson on Tuesday.
In the American Midwest, cops attempted to clear out a protester tent camp at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on Wednesday. Some 30 protesters ended up being detained amid clashed and four law enforcement officers sustained injuries.
Police action against protesters at the University of Texas in Dallas likewise resulted in some 17 arrests by the end of Wednesday, although media reports suggest that protests still continue in the campus.
Tensions are also running high in the southern state of Louisiana where cops raided a protest encampment at the Tulane University in New Orleans, resulting in 14 arrests.
US media also reported arrests of protesters on college and university campuses this week in North Carolina, Florida, New Mexico, Virginia, Georgia, Utah, and Connecticut.

Not fair! US has forgotten what it means to fight against an equal opponent – American veteran
Fighting lightly-armed guerrillas around the world during the past few decades had apparently led the United States to forget what it means to “actually fight a war” against a peer adversary, an anonymous US veteran who participated in the Ukrainian conflict told Business Insider.
The vet complained in particular that US soldiers have gotten used to operating in situations where they have a major advantage in troops and equipment over their adversary, whereas in Ukraine, he often found himself instead facing a numerically superior and better-equipped opposition.

"We've gotten so used to the idea of just fighting guerrilla wars and f*****g fighting terrorists and everything else that we kind of forgot what it means to actually fight a war," said the veteran who participated in the US military occupation of Iraq as a contractor.

“I believe that a lot of the training that we have is tailored more to fighting in guerrilla warfare nowadays than it is to actually fighting a near-peer adversary like it would be with Russia or China,” the veteran said, claiming that many other NATO members also have this problem.

"Chang'e-6" mission will be delivering soil from the Moon's back side in the southern part of the Apollo Basin (photo 2).
The plan is to deliver soil from a depth of up to 2 meters. However, the previous mission, "Chang'e-5", managed to do it only from a depth of a little less than a meter, since the drill met very hard shale rocks.
The mission will also try to obtain oxygen directly on the Moon.
Return to Earth is scheduled on June 25.
