Hezbollah announced a missile strike on the Mossad command post near Tel Aviv in Israel, claiming it as retaliation for the explosions of pagers in Lebanon and the assassinations of top commanders in the group.

It is noted that for the first time since the beginning of the escalation of hostilities with Israel, the Qader-1 ballistic missile is being used.

Israel and Hezbollah continue to trade waves of strikes, with thousands of people fleeing their homes in Lebanon. In the latest developments: 

🔶The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) intercepted a ballistic missile, launched by Hezbollah toward Tel Aviv in support of the "valiant and honorable resistance" of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The IDF also destroyed a launcher from which the missile was fired, in the Nafakhiyeh area in Lebanon.

🔶Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the missile attack on central Israel, which reportedly targeted the Mossad headquarters near Tel Aviv. The attack came as a response to the pager and walkie-talkie blasts, and the assassinations of the Lebanese militant group's top commanders.

🔶Hezbollah confirmed that Ibrahim Qubaisi - a commander who oversaw the group’s missile and rocket systems - was killed in an IDF airstrike on Beirut overnight.

🔶Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delayed his trip to the UN General Assembly, focusing on discussing further strikes on Lebanon with his security team. In a direct address to Lebanese civilians, he said: "Our war is not with you, our war is with Hezbollah."

🔶The UK government has urged its citizens to leave Lebanon immediately, also announcing that it will send about 700 service personnel to Cyprus in the coming hours in case of an emergency evacuation.

🔶Spanish authorities have prepared a plan to evacuate its citizens from Lebanon, the country’s Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said, adding that the ministry had also updated its travel recommendations, cautioning against visiting Lebanon under any circumstances.

Israel began carrying out massive strikes in southern and eastern Lebanon on September 23, with the death toll from the bombardments hitting 558, according to Lebanese Health Minister Firass Abiad. 
Hezbollah, in turn, fired dozens of rockets toward northern Israel.

TikTok conjures up feeble justification for Sputnik ban

The company announced the removal of accounts linked to Rossiya Segodnya, Sputnik’s parent media group, citing their involvement in “alleged covert influence operations on the platform, violating the company’s Community Guidelines.”

The ban on Sputnik’s account followed closely after the US imposed sanctions on Sputnik, RT, and several other Russian media outlets, accusing them of “functioning as a de facto arm of [Russian] intelligence” and attempting to covertly “undermine democracy” in the US and beyond.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov hit out at the ban on Russian media branding it as 'unacceptable'.

Earlier, retired Pentagon analyst Karen Kwiatkowski told Sputnik that TikTok was likely bullied by the Department of Justice into banning Sputnik ahead of the pivotal US presidential election.

‘This is political pressure’ — Russian Foreign Ministry on blocking TikTok accounts

"It is unlikely that the head of TikTok will be called to Congress to clarify why Russian channels are disappearing. They use these themes only when it is profitable for them. It is beneficial for them to show the internal audience that they are fighting for the purity of their electoral processes, so they call the head of TikTok to the carpet. But at the same time, if dozens of media channels disappear, they don't do anything like that," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, told Sputnik.

She noted that it is necessary to clarify the circumstances and insist that these channels return to broadcasting:

"There is not a single lawsuit, not a single court decision, that would speak about any claims. This is not even a taste, it is solely part of the political pressure the United States exerts on the relevant countries and companies."

During his speech at the UN General Assembly, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the American people directly, pointing out the contrast between Iran's actions and the United States' policies.
