Kraken special unit is made up of:
- veterans of the "AZOV" regiment
- GUR officers
- Kharkov ultras
- 226 and 227 battalions of the TRO, Kharkov 126 Brigade of the TRO.
- In August 2023, "Azov- Kharkov" left the unit and became part of the 60 OMBr.
In 2022, the regiment already numbered about 2,000 people, while considering itself the elite of the GUR, the unit fell on the cadres. For example, when the "Kraken" arrived at a roadblock, pulled out automatic rifles and ordered servicemen and policemen to lie on the ground in Kharkov.
