PART: 13

THE ARK MOVES IN THE NAME OF ALLĀH ﷻ

Noah abided by Allah’s Command and said: “Embark in it, in the Name of Allah. It will and shall cast anchor. Indeed, my Lord is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (11:41) It meant that the Ark will start in the Name of Allah and will finish its journey in the Name of Allah the All-Forgiving and Most Merciful.


WAVES LIKE MOUNTAINS!!

“And the Ark sailed with them upon waves like mountains.” (11:42) Waves like mountains: It was so huge a flood that the earth had never witnessed at any time such a catastrophic calamity. The heaven opened itself in all generosity, and the earth gushed forth water from every place. As the Qur’an says in Surah Al-Qamar: “So he called to his Lord, saying: ‘I am defeated, so administer Your victory.’ So We opened the gates of heaven with pouring water; and We caused the ground to gush forth springs, so the water met according to the decree which has been ordained. And we carried him upon a vessel well planked and nailed; floating before Our Eyes,” means that it sailed in Our Security and Safety, in Our Protection and Guardianship.

Ibn Jarir has mentioned that the Flood came of the 13th of Aab (August) in the Coptic year.

In Surah Al-Haqqah, it is said: “Surely, We bore you in the floating Ark when the water overflowed, that We might make it a reminder for you, and heeding ears may bear its (lessons) in remembrance.” (69:11-12)

THE LEVEL OF WATER REACHES ABOVE THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN ON EARTH

A group of exegetes hold the opinion that the Water went 15 cubits above the highest mountain on the earth. This is also the opinion in the Ahlul Kitab (People of the Book), (Bible, Genesis 7:20). In another opinion it is suggested that it was 80 cubits above it, and encompassed the whole earth from its east to its west, its plains and mountains, its deserts and wilds. Everything died as a result of this Flood.

After Speaking to Sister's who Believe the Niqab is Obligatory Yet Don’t Wear it, I Found that the Reasoning goes Back to what People Would do/say. There are Case's where their Families Don’t approve, their Parent's may Threaten to Curse them if They Don’t obey or There’s Fear of how Non-Muslims will React to it.

We Know that the One who Threaten Someone for Obeying Allāhﷻ is an Oppressor. When your Parents' Threaten you with a Curse, the Principle is that the “CURSE” Will have No Affect as Allāhﷻ does Not Answer the Dua of the Oppressor. And this is the Answer the People of Knowledge give to Sister's in this Situation.

Some things that Helped me Out/Keep the Niqab on was the Fact that on Yawmul Qiyama, those We were Disobeying Allāhﷻ for will Not be There to Take that Sin for Us.
Plus, There is No Obedience to the Creation in the Disobedience of the Creator.

Read your Ādhkar before Leaving your Home and make Dua Allāhﷻ Makes this an Easy Deed for you. May Allāhﷻ Protect Us and Keep us Firm on Everything that Pleases Him, Āāmeen Ya Rabbul Alāmeen.

“I saw the veil of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) in the Jami’ masjid. She spoke to the people from behind the veil and she was asked questions from behind it”

An-Nahl 16:18
وَإِن تَعُدُّواْ نِعۡمَةَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحۡصُوهَآۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

English - Tafsir ibn kathir
And if you would try to count the favors of Allah, you would never be able to count them. Truly, Allah is Forgiving, Most Merciful.

meaning that He pardons and forgives them. If He were to ask you to thank Him for all of His blessings, you would not be able to do so, and if He were to command you to do so, you would be incapable of it. If He punishes you, He is never unjust in His punishment, but He is Forgiving and Most Merciful, He forgives much and rewards for little.

Ibn Jarir said:
"It means that Allāhﷻ is Forgiving when you fail to thank Him properly, if you repent and turn to Him in obedience, and strive to do that which pleases Him. He is Merciful to you and does not punish you if you turn to Him and repent.

NOAH CALLS HIS SON!

And Noah called out to his son who had kept himself at a distance: “O my son! Embark with us, and do not be with the disbelievers.’ His son said: ‘I will betake myself to the mountain that will protect me from the water.’ Noah said: ‘There is no protection today from Allah’s Decree, except that He should have mercy.’ And the waves came between them, and he was among the drowned.” (11:42-43)

This was Noah’s son Yam, who was the brother of Shem, Ham and Japheth. Some said that his name was Kenan. He was a disbeliever and wrongdoer. But those who, though, not related to his father, but were his followers, escaped the Punishment.

THE FLOOD RECEDES, THE ARK RESTS UPON MOUTN JUDI, ALL THE WRONGDOERS DROWN!

“And then it was said: ‘O earth swallow your water, and O sky! cease your rain!’ And the water abated and the Command was fulfilled and the Ark came to rest upon Mount Judi, and it was said: “Away with those who do wrong!” (11:44).

When no one was left of those who were wrongdoers and who worshipped other than Allah, Allah commanded the earth to swallow up the water, and commanded the heaven to cease raining. The Command was fulfilled and the punishment was inflicted. They were deprived of the Mercy of Allah and from His forgiveness because of their stubborn attitude towards Him.

NOAH’S APPEAL TO ALLAH TO SAVE HIS SON

Allah, then mentioned Noah’s appeal to Him regarding his son, and his request to Him not to drown his son. He said that You promised me that You will save my family with me and my son was one of my family, so how was he drowned?

ALLAH SAYS HIS SON WAS NOT FROM HIS FAMILY

He was answered that his son was not from his family members whom Allah has promised to rescue. What He said was: “and your family, except those of them against whom the Word has already been spoken…” (23:27). This son of his was from those against whom Allah’s Decree to drown them was already ordained, because of his disbelief and disobedience. So he sided with the disbelievers and headed for the same natural consequences.

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Messenger (ﷺ) talked about Friday and Said, "There is an Hour (opportune time) on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while Praying and asks Something from Allāhﷻ, then Allāhﷻ will definitely Meet his Demand." And he (the Prophet ﷺ) out the Shortness of That Time with his Hand's.

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله Said:

“Zina is a great evil which can destroy society.
It is contrary to the benefit of the global values of preserving lineage, protecting chastity and the sanctity of individuals.
It spreads animosity and enmity among people, as committing zina affects other people's wives, mothers, sisters and daughters.
It causes destruction to human society, and therefore comes after the evil of killing in terms of the grade of its evil.”

✒ The Worst Women

Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ said:

“The worst women of yours are those who display their beauty to strangers (Mutabarrijāt) and are arrogant, and they are hypocrites, NONE of them will enter Jannah EXCEPT the likes of red-legged crow (a rare bird) i.e only a few.”

NOAH DESCENDS ON MOUNTAIN JUDI

“It was said: ‘O Noah! Descend in peace from Us, and with blessings upon you and upon the nations of those with you, and some nations We shall give them enjoyment for a time, then We shall afflict them with a grievous chastisement.’” (11:48) Allah commanded Noah to come out from the Ark after it had descended upon the mountain Judi, and the water seeped away in the ground and dried up.

ALL HUMAN LINEAGE GOES BACK TO NOAH’S SONS

“…in peace from Us, and with blessings upon you…” means that you descend and come out with no fear and with blessings upon you, and upon those who will be born afterwards from your coming generations. Allah did not grant any children to those of the believers who were saved with Noah. So all human lineage goes to Noah’s sons. [So they are either the posterity of Shem or Ham, or Japheth]. Allah said: “And We made only his progeny to endure (on the earth).” (37:77)

VARIOUS RACES FROM NOAH’S SONS

Sa’id bin Musaiyab said: Noah had 3 sons: Shem, Japheth and Ham. Each of them had 3 children. From the progeny of Shem came Arabs, Persian and Romans. From Japheth posterity came Turk, Saqalibah and Ya’juj and Ma’juj (Gog and Magog people). And Ham started the lineage of Copts, Sudanese and Berbers.
It is also said that all of Noah’s 3 children were born after the Flood. His son Kenan was born before the Flood and died in it and Abir who was born before the Flood, died before it.

However the correct position is that his 3 children were aboard with him with their wives and mother. This is also what we find in the Torah.

It is a statement that has been authentically reported from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) as is the case in the narration on the authority of Ibn 'Abbās that 'Umar entered upon the Messenger of Allāh and found him resting on a straw mat that had left marks on his side,

to which 'Umar said: "Prophet of Allāh! If only you would use a mat that is of more comfort than this one?"

He replied, "What concern do I have with this Dunyā, I am only like a rider who is on a journey on a hot day, then seeks shade under a tree for a while during the day, then departed and left it."¹

Ruling of Praying upon Prayer Mats with Pictures of Kaʿbah - Imām Ibn Bāz

حكم الصلاة على السجاد التي فيها صورة الكعبة والمسجد النبوي

يقول: يوجد على بعض السجادات التي نصلي عليها صور خاصة بالكعبة والمسجد النبوي. فما الحكم؟
The Questioner says: In some of the Sajjādāt (mats) that we pray upon, there are pictures, especially of the Kaʿbah and the Masjid An-Nabawī. So, what's the ruling of this?

الشيخ:
ينبغي أن لا يصلي عليها لأنّ في الوقوف على الكعبة ... ووطئ عليه نوع من الإهانة.
The Sheikh: They should not be prayed upon because standing upon the Kaʿbah and stepping on it is demeaning.

لا يجوز تصوير الكعبة على الفروش.
It's not permissible to put the image of the Kaʿbah on mats.

ينبغي لمن رأى لا يشتري السجاد جعلها صورة الكعبة.
The one who sees a prayer mat upon which, there is an image of the Kaʿbah, should not buy it.

لانّها إن كانت أمامه قد تشوش عليه.
That's because if it (i.e., the image of Kaʿbah) was in front of him, it might distract him.

وإن كانت تحت رجليه فإنه نوع من الاهانة
And if it was below his feet, then it is demeaning.

فالاحوط للمؤمن أن لا يستعمل هذه السجادات.
Therefore, it's safer for the believer not to use these prayers mats.
