Bereits am Vorabend hatte Generaloberst Jodl in Reims die Kapitulation vor dem Oberbefehlshaber der Alliierten Expeditionsstreitkräfte US-General Dwight D. Eisenhower unterzeichnet. ◼️ Der 9. Mai als "Tag des Sieges" ist auch offizieller Feiertag in Armenien, Georgien, Kasachstan, Moldau und weiteren Ex-Sowjetrepubliken sowie auf den brit. Kanalinseln.
