VENEZUELA RIOTS CONTINUE. DAY 2 AND 3.
DAY 2 (July 30): Russian Foreign Ministry called for the international community to abstain statements about the electoral result and current social situation in Venezuela, expressing that "The elections were conducted in a orderly manner (...), without serious violations". Riots continued, now with partial support from isolated criminal groups around the country, with violence intensifying as Security, Military and Paramilitary Chavist forces continue to repress protesters with lethal force and indiscriminated shooting towards crowds. Aerial tracking showed dozens of flights from Venezuela to Cuba an viceversa. These movements were also common in the last riots of 2019. Is presumed that Venezuela government is importing Cuban soldiers as a backup force for fightning the rioters, and also evacuating relatives from government officials to a safe place.
At morning of July 30, multiple sources reported that Freddy Superlano was forcibly detained by the SEBIN (SErvicio Bolivariano de Inteligencia Nacional) in Caracas. Superlano is the National Manager of Voluntad Popular, an opposit political party. None official statement by the government about this and others forced detentions has been made at this moment. In the Embassy of Argentina, where few political oppositors (mainly from María Corina Machado party) were taking asylum, electricity supply has been cut off since the night hours. No significant events happened further this incident. However, in day 3 (July 31) officials in the Embassy reported Chavists security forces surrounded the building. No more official information at the moment.

Maduro's regime has updated the VenApp, a government monile application for civilians use. The mobile application now permits citizens to report "fascist terrorist" (The government way to describe genuine protestors). The Carter Center has declared Venezuelan elections not democratic.

🔶️ The bomb had been hidden approximately two months ago in the guesthouse, according to five of the Middle Eastern officials. The guesthouse is run and protected by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and is part of a large compound, known as Neshat, in an upscale neighborhood of northern Tehran.
🔶️ Mr. Haniyeh was in Iran’s capital for the presidential inauguration. The bomb was detonated remotely, the five officials said, once it was confirmed that he was inside his room at the guesthouse. The blast also killed a bodyguard.

Donald Trump, if re-elected as US president, might insist on Ukraine's refusal to join NATO, according to the Financial Times. JD Vance, the Republican vice-presidential candidate, has supported the idea of a neutral Ukraine, suggesting this approach could guarantee both Kyiv's independence and its neutrality. Vance mentioned in an interview with the New York Times in June that neutrality is a significant concern for Russia.
Ukraine, on the other hand, is adamant about restoring its full territorial integrity, including Crimea. The US and its European allies have pledged to support Ukraine for as long as necessary and have stated they will not impose peace terms on the Ukrainians. Gideon Rahman, chief international affairs columnist at the Financial Times, highlighted that the primary obstacle to peace is not just Ukraine's reluctance to make territorial concessions but also Russia's demand for a settlement involving the control of 80% of Ukraine's territory, which it currently does not possess. Ukrainians require guarantees that Russia will not use a peace settlement to rearm and launch further offensives.
Kyiv's stance is that Ukraine should join NATO to be covered by the Alliance's collective security guarantees. The recent NATO summit declared that "the future of Ukraine is in NATO," but specified this would occur "when the Allies agree and the conditions are met."
An alternative proposal in Washington is the "Israeli option," which would avoid a formal treaty obligation to defend Ukraine. Instead, it would involve providing advanced Western military aid to Ukraine, enabling it to independently deter future Russian aggression.
